I went to the Toronto Freedom Festival May 3rd to help legalize marijuana

So does anybody want to hear anything about it? Ask away, ask away! We had a blast and I mean blast! I met Marc Emery at the Vapour Lounge on Yonge Street, Toronto. How cool! I didn't know such places existed. I visited the Hemp Store there and stocked up on supplies. Cool supplies. Did you know there was such a thing as cellulose papers? They are clear, see-through, but not plastic, organic material. Just amazing! They put themselves out when you stop smoking and do not wastefully exhaust smoke whilst smoking either. I've never seen so many bongs in my life! Rows and rows of them! And Marc was great! We were waiting for him to arrive at the Vapour lounge as it was noted on his website in his itinerary that he would be there then, he was a little late, but we were outside on the street. So apparently he gets out of a cab and I spun around and said, "Hey, that's Marc Emery!". So what does he do, but make a beeline for me, gives me a big hug and a kiss and poses for a picture with me. How cool! The Prince of Pot himself. Wow! Then we go upstairs, hee hee, no, to the vapour lounge, with others of the same persuasion, to sit and smoke and talk. So Marc gets up from his table and joins us!!!! I'm still flabbergasted! But quite impressed as I found him to be a down to earth fellow. We talked about his extradition, that he is now fighting, and they are trying for more jail time than the 5 yrs he had agreed to, but the CDN govt wouldn't play ball. I/we hoped that this is Canada's way of interfering with the ridiculous amount of jail time they are trying for. I asked him how the fight against Bill C-26 is going. And he advised to continue fighting it, the hope is that it will be opposed too much and it will die. So keep writing those letters to your MP's and anyone else who will listen. I wish you all could have been there with me. It was an experience I will certainly remember. I will hope to make it an annual trip now that I know about it.

That's my girl! Oh I'm so glad you got to go! And meeting Marc! What a hoot! Maybe next year I'll be there with you eh? Tell me, how was Toronto? Did you like it? I know it's changed heaps since I lived there. The Vapour Lounge is new since my time - what was the cross steet, do you know or where you too stoned? ROFL

I'm so glad I got to go, too. We were late arriving because the SO had to go somewhere first, but I pouted and we went. I had no expectations (hoped) of meeting Marc, but was so flabbergasted when he just grabbed me, gave me a hug and a peck on the cheek. So friendly! I certainly didn't feel like I was in Toronto. Although, you know me, I made it an exciting adventure wherever I went. We traversed the downtown core, via taxi once, via subway a few times, and walked alot. I giggled and hooted and hollered the whole time, bringing (making) the party with me, wherever I went. Even the Toronto people laughed. It was pouring rain, but so what. We didn't care. At the Freedom Festival, there were 4 stages, but I got there too late to see any of the events (Damn, SO), but I had already had my first joint, so was easygoing and going with the flow. We just wandered around smoking and appreciating the fact that we were allowed to smoke within the borders. I also got Marc to autograph a copy of the latest Cannibis Culture Magazine for me while we were at the vapour lounge. I couldn't get over how friendly he was. After we got over the initial shock of him hugging me downstairs, and he hurried up there to greet the crowd waiting for him, we settled into a table. He got up from his table 5 mins later and joined us! Yes, I was quite stoned, and not sure exactly where it was, but I think it was south of Bloor on Yonge. 667 Yonge St. Especially after they brought out a 10 foot long vapourizer balloon for us all to smoke. I have pics. It says END PROHIBIITON!!!!

Ok, you got me oriented as to where you were. So cool. I love TO. And it's come so far since I lived in the core. I can hardly wait to see it again - maybe when the oldest moves back! I'm glad you had a great time C. Even if the SO was a bit of a pill. Being stoned is the only way to go sometimes with him around eh? LOL I feel like I know Marc after all the links you sent me, so I'm absolutely thrilled for you that you got to have such a great experience with him. WoooHooo! Now pass the damn bong before I have to bang you! ROFL
