Tomatoes can be grown in pots ... i did this way back when i was in the city with much success. just get a good sized pot , add some potting soil and your tomatoe plant, i usually buy the little plants , ( 4 for 99cts or cheaper) .. u can use seeds if you 'd like just make sure to water and place in an area of sun/shade , when it gets bigger , place a tomatoe trellis or cage for support and prune unwanted branches/stems. i cant think of any other veggies, i know herbs and peppers are excellent in pots.. good luck gardening !!

hi there! my pastor's kid also planted tomatoes. he is 8 years old. they just bought those polybags (because they didn't have space for a garden), bought rich soil and then just buried some seeds in the bags. then they would water the bags everyday. the problem was, they put too many seeds and so when they sprouted, there was so much. but this is okay, as long as you have garden. because after they have sprouted. you can transfer each of the seedlings to the ground. but if not, you can use this technique, only that just put 2-3 seeds per bag. you can also do this in a pot. :-) good day!
