Summer is on it's way and with summer coming also the rising cost of gas is coming again? How are you going to get the extra cash to be able to do you're summer activities? Are you going to do a Yard sale? Are you going to stop making extra trip? What are you going to do to get the extra money take on a 2nd or 3rd job?

wow , five kids ? thats a blessing , uum .. sort your priorities first and i believe there are ways you can find to have some fun without spending too much ... just being with each other, having love and contentment is sometimes better than having all the money in the world.. Best of Luck , wish u well this summer !

Yes, I have been thinking about this just lately, as I do not want to be stuck in the house all summer!! I have a few things that I am doing to raise a few extra pounds a month, one of them is coming on here, then I have a few surveys I do, then I have ebay, then I have been collecting a few vouchers for money off at theme parks and lastly I am attempting to submit some articles and stuff to places as well. I will not be doing a yard sale, as we do not really do them in this country, but if I did not have so many kids under my feet, then I would consider a market stall once a week, where I could sell perfumes, or make up or clothes, depending on what I could get my hands on at the time!!

A market stall is a bit like a table with a shelter over the top of it and there are loads of them in a certain place in a town and they all sell different goods at lower prices than in the shops. A bit like a yard sale I would say but the stuff is brand new. I hate ebay if I am honest but it is all I know at the minute!!

Well I don't realy like the summer. I hate that it gets so hot all the time. But I just stay indoors. I don't really go outside too much. But I think that this summer I'll be going out more than last year. If I do then I'll probably go to the movies and to one of my favorite restaurants. I'll probably get the money from online activities and if I get my rebate check.

I think I'm going to have to do more mylotting and I was thinking of taking more walks with the family and the puppers. LOL!! that way I get excerise and they get an outing. Maybe not one that we would have done if we had a few extra dollars here and there.

Hi Bella, Well you are right these gas prices are really biting me in the pants right now.Can not seem to do a darn thing but stay at home, I am still wanting to get up your way to see my mother, never did get there last year.We will go to that amusement park/water park probally every other week-end since we have the season pass. It costs $50.Cheapest entertainment going arounnd hear, they also have about 8 free concerts there during the summer. As far as yard sales I may have a few, but I live in a poor location, people can not get in and out of my house very well, so no great success here with yard sales, I end up giving the stuff away!!LoL.I can not even work a first job since I am disabled, so I really can not even think of a way to make extra money..Good luck to you, my dear!!

I was thinking of raffling off a tie blankie that I am thinking of making. LOL!! but I have no clue how well that would go since you can make those fairly cheap. But I wouldn't want to sell it for less than I made it and I would have to raffle it off doing a flee market if you know what I mean. LOL!!! I have thought and thought more on how to make money and I'm hitting a brick freaking wall if you know what I mean. LOL!!! Have a nice one. Hun and I think I'm going to have to get season passes to Idewild. LOL!!!

I'd be happy to go back to work but with the summer I have planned I don't know how I would fit in work with all the activity I have already planned. Between driving out of state to go to a concert and visit some old friends, and going on a vacation for me and my honey and a vacation for the family and the family reunion and being the proud owner of a horse for a month and taking the kids fishing and to area amusement parks and a long list of other things I have planned I'm looking forward to next fall ALREADY so I can finally relax!

I dont knwo what I'm gonna do actually..not that we can really do much in the summer anyway since my husband works so much...I do know that i'm putting away my money from workin online aside (some of it) and I might have a yard sale or two depending....Hopefully once the gardens are in full swing groceries will be cut back and I'd like to make cuts in other areas too but we'll see... this whole gas price thing is REALLY killing a lot of ppl! I keep hearing that its goin to go over $4.00 here in Western New York this summer and thats just INSANE!! Especially considering my husbands commute is min 2hrs a day

We've always gone to garage sales, church sales, flea markets...that's the only way we get anything, since we've never been able to afford most things brand new -- it's even more impossible for us these days. I'm just a teen but I'm gonna have to get a job just to help support my family. I'm not sure how we're gonna get extra money for anything.

im stuck in school. i have a summer class. and it is more expensive than going to summer camps. The tuition is too high now. The best thing that I can do now is try looking for a source of income in the internet like blogging. That fits my course. :) Im enjoying my summer but the projects are eating me whole. LOL.

I'm looking forward to going to some yard sales. I got a new car to save with the gas. I don't plan on taking a trip this year but I wish I could.

I'll be looking for a more lucrative job. Other than that I need a vacation. My family reunion is this year I think. And I'm not really looking forward to that because I don't really know any of my relatives.

You know, this summer, becasue of the cost of gas and the rising food costs, forthe first time we cannot afford to go anywhere. We are staying home and wiht the extra cash the government sends..we are just going to pay down our debt. Nonoe of it will go to any kind of retail store. I now that money is meant to hopefully stimulate the economy? Not here..pay down deby and stay at home to realx this year. That's the most realistic thing a family can do, if they are not rich.

I know and its really depressing. I cant work because Im going to have surgery next Monday. Or I would. And I cant do a yard sale because thats too physical. I know the price of gas is not going to go down either. Its only going to get worst. Let me know if you think of something for me do.LOL

Honey I know the cost of petrol (gas) has risen sherply but here in the Uk it was already much, much higher and it is continually rising just now even though each and every company is making huge profits! My other half has to travel about 50 miles each day for work and then we wonder why we struggle financially! Oh well just as well I can't drive right now - it means we aren't trying to afford petrol for my car too! xxx
