A Little of What You Fancy ......

Ever heard the saying 'a little of what you fancy does you good'? I'm a bit believer in it myself. I think that a bit of a food you fancy, a bit of the entertainment you fancy, or even a bit of whatever you fancy (!!) does you the world of good. Of course, one cannot live entirely on creme puffs just because you fancy them any more than one can spend a lifetime on MyLot, just because you enjoy it. But that's why the saying specifies *a little bit*. So I'm off now to indulge myself in a square or two of the expensive dark chocolate I've had hidden from the kids in the butter compartment of the fridge, because do you know what? I really fancy some! Then, I shall spend the rest of the vening feeling all the better for it! So, how about you? What do *you* fancy? And will it do you any good?

Im with you Moo all the way,if we cant have a little of what we fancy then what is the point of it all!!But theres a lillte bit and a little bit,and those who can efine the difference are very clever. My little bits(of certain things!!) tend to be a big bit.Well i must tell you that the UK is basking in a heat wave today Moo..ive just been shopping and on my way back what do I see,a neighbour on his lounger wearing his scanty shorts.wow...its lovely too see the sun, everyone is smiling and cheerful,in fact the world seems quite a different place here today!!

So Ruby, how do you define a little? My favourite definition, when thinking in terms of a light snack? It's as much as you fancy of course!! Now I'm confused as to why the neighbout in scanty shorts made an appearance in this discussion. Are you trying to tell me that this is what you fancy? Just a little bit, it might do you good :-)

As if Moo..as if...the scanty shorts came into the conversation that followed the first conversation, that referred to the weather being lovely!!...and if you can understand that little bit of double dutch you are a better woman than me!

Oh dear, I guess I should get off Mylot now after reading your post. :) Hmm, what about eating what you fancy so much that you no longer fancy it any more? That works sometimes to cure you of cravings. Now, if you love cream buns or something of the sort, just eat and eat till you detest cream buns. :) Otherwise, there will be that eternal craving for cream buns. Moreover, you have put in a lot of will power to just eat 'one or two cream buns' at a time. Cheers and happy mylotting.

I know someone who eats only raw foods, who eats just like this. She eats beans, for instance, until she just doesn't fancy beans any more. Then she moves onto, say, bananas and does the same there. She reckons that by listening to her body she is making sure it gets the right amount of all the nutrients etc. I'm not sure why you'd want to do what you suggest. Eating cream buns until you're sick of cream buns might be fun at the time, but why on earth would you want to cure yourself of eating cream buns? I mean, eating cream buns is one of life's true pleasures! Willpower isn't an issue when it comes to eating cream buns unless you live in a cream bun factory. I mean, you only buy one packet right? So you can only eat one packet right? An excellent tip from someone who eats more than their fair share of cream buns coming up .... if you eat more than your fair share of the buns, eat the rest of them too to hide the evidence :-D

Oh that was a good statement, "a little of what you fancy does you good." I like that. Well, I fancy so many things and I just wish I can have even a little of them. But that is a wishful thinking maybe, I don't have little of those that I fancy. But I agree with you that a little of it will do you no harm. Enjoy your chocolate today, tomorrow, and as long as you hid it, you can have it all!

Thankyou Danzer. Believe me, I keep the decent chocolate well hidden! There's noone in this house who'd think to replace the butter in the dish but me, so hiding it with the butter in the fridge is the perfect hodong place ;-) If that hiding spot ever gets rumbled, I'll try keeping it with the fresh toilet rolls ROFL
