Im homeless, sqaundered my 6 figure savings 3 times so far this life. Have lost my girl and my kids. Lost my house went to prison, and dont have more than 50 cent on me this moment.

So sorry. I am bipolar. Is there a public mental health facility where you are that help get you back on your feet? You are not alone. My best suggestion is to call a help line to give you information on where you call and who to contact for help. God Bless You and remember that He is always with you even when you feel you are alone.

I hope things are better for you by now. I am 41. I know how hard it is to get help, you are right. You either have to be a danger to yourself or others. I am on lithium, lexapro, klonopin, and seroquil right now. They like to experiment with my meds, lol. I have taken quite a few that didn't really work well. I really do pray that things are better for you.

My ex husband and my best friend both suffer from depression. It is a long, hard road. I am so sorry for your suffering. It certainly is a way of life. Both of them take effexor and have good results with it. It also treated their anxiety problems.

Yes, it is a way of life, but I think you'll find once you can find a medication that works, like you need it to- it really does make a difference. The biggest problem (and quite honestly, it always seemed kinda ironic to me) is not treating it, or trying to avoid it. I know that being depressed is the cause of those feelings though. But it really is something you need to do the best you can on facing head on. The more you can be honest about it (to yourself, and others) the better treatment you will be able to find. And that is the key. And more than anything, I hope you have done some researching, to find the cause of depression. My ex husbands biggest problem was that he always felt bad about being depressed. When we got married, I made him sit down with me, and go through the facts-so he saw it wasnt his fault. It's a chemical issue. That made a huge difference in the way, he was able to deal with it, and thus get treatment for it. It is nothing to be ashamed of. I just hope you know that.

I suffer from depression and anxirty disorders.I have been dealing with them for years I tried meds but their side effects out weighed their potential to help me,so now I just fight thru it everyday and try to keep it under control.Which is a very hard thing to do at times.Have faith in God and ask him to help you thru the bad times,it helps even though it doesn't feel like he is there for you most the time.

I think many more people that it may seem have some sort of disorder. A common one is OCD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Many people have it, some to more extremes than others. I am bipolar, and suffer from eating disorders. My husband knows both, and he knows that is the way I am. He doesn't judge me for having a crazy facination with mental hospitals and movies about them etc, it's just an interest for me to see things about what I am going through. Everyone has a touch of something, so in reality no one is really "Normal" or everyone is "Normal" for having something mental
