Have you ever seen a car blown onto the roof of a house?

China
May 7, 2008 12:03am CST
On May 6th, 2008, an eleventh degree big wind blew a car to the top or roof of a flat house. It happened in Yanbian, Jiling Province, in the northeast part of China. The driver was driving along when his car was blown to the roof. This part of the road is special because the road is higher than the house. When the wind started to blow, the car started to flow. Before the driver knew this, his car had already been off the road sitting on the roof of the house. What is lucky, the driver did not get hurt in the accident. I just read this news and did the translation for mylotter to share. Have you ever seen or experienced or heard of such an accident, please? Please share. Thank you a lot.

Hi william, I'm really stunned to hear this news and watch it in picture. The car driver must be the most fortunate man on earth to have escaped such a blow. I wish such a thing never occurs again in any part of the world. Thanks for translating and sharing, my friend!

Hi williamjisir! I have never seen anything like that before. I guess, only in the movies have I seen such things. The only news I have heard about cars being blown away is just several feet away. I am glad the driver of that car was not hurt but I guess, he got really scared. Just my thoughts. Take care and have a nice day!

It's astonishing to see a car on top of the roof. Luckily we haven't experience a strong wind which could blow a car off the road. The driver is very lucky, but I think he must be shocked to find himself on top of the roof top!

You are most welcome my friend williamjisir. Nowadays, global warming is getting more and more serious. Our world is facing the risk of population booming, pollution, and energy resource restriction. Because of global warming, the weather pattern is changing and more disaster like typhoon, flood, drought & etc. Abnormality seems to be getting more and more obvious.

Speaking of global warming, days back I read and heard news that the ice in the North Pole is melting to nil this summer. I think that it is terrible if there is no icebergs or ice left in the North Pole. I am sure that it will affect more of the climate of the earth. Getting worried for this.

Back in about 1982 or so I was witness to a huge tornado here in Minnesota. After the tornado blew over (pun intented) I went a mile away to the local Sears Tower Store. They had a sign that was about 25 feet tall and had a shelf like appearance to it. The parking lot was a huge lot as well covering a few square blocks. Well the tornado had picked up a few vehicles and set them on top of the sign. There were also a few vehicles resting on top of others in the parking lot. It was not a pleasant sight. Noone was killed but there were some injuries that day. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Hi dear jisir, it’s really scary to learn that a car landed on the roof of a flat house. This was the wonderful power of the strong air current which luckily had its mercy for the poor driver. In my place we have never seen such dreadful wind. But in certain parts of the highland highway I do find wind-sacs on high poles along the road to indicate the strength of the air current for safety of driving. Most of the time they swing relaxingly in the gentle mountain breezes there. In this fantastic world, it seems that any incredible thing might happen anytime and anywhere. Many mysteries and unknown are yet to be explored. Hi my dear friend, your scary story of flying vehicle could really provide some data for scientific research as how to modify a car to a flying machine. Anyway thanks for sharing the unique picture with us here.

Hello Sir William! Long time since I've seen you around. That photo is amazing. The forces of nature can be pretty terrifying! Aren't you glad it wasn't your car with you in it?? My son leaves for China tomorrow. He is going to meet a friend he met online as a matter of fact. He was going to Tibet but I don't know if that will happen or not. How have you been? Have you been pretty busy?

Hello my dear zigzag Buddha friend. Yes, I feel glad that I do not have this case happen, but I feel sorry for the car owner and the house owner. Please say hi to your son for me and welcome him to Tibet,China to pay a visit to his friend whom he met online. I hope that he will enjoy his trip to China. Yes, I have been busy recently for my teaching job and am spending less time at Mylot this month. I am sure that you know about the Wenchuan Earthquake in Sichuan China, close to Tibet, which took place on May 12th.These days I have been paying great concern and attention to the situation there and I wept a lot when I hear and read and watch news about the destructive earthquake. I feel so sad for the people in that area who lost their lives and their families. What is relieving is that our government has been trying its best to help save the buried people there under the pulled-down houses within their might. I am very glad that our government highly value this serious situation that we have ever had. There are a lot of touching stories about the earthquake. For more information, you could search English_Xinhua. Thank you very much for your response and concern.Take care.

I'm most thankful to hear that the driver in this accident was safe and unharmed. I have never heard of such a thing happening. But in our area, cars are often stranded in hurricanes and flood waters. And that is very dangerous. I do not look forward to hurricane season!

Hello my friend. I was really surprised to see this picture, and i must say i am amazed by the power the wind has there. Are you sure it wasn't a tornado ? We don't have such powerful winds in my region as i am somewhat protected by mountains and sea, and other things like that.
