If its because of your computer you better reduce the brightness of your monitor. I also experienced that before. It's not about your eyes or your head. Its all about your computer. You can also try reflexology. You can read about it on the web. Massage through reflexology concepts can reduce headache. :)

Fastest home remedy that we use it peppermint essential oil in a difuser...OR depending on where in my head the ache is sometimes a cold cloth on over my eyes helps..Peppermint works fastest for me though.

Feverfew works for me....you should be able to get it at the grocery store or health food store....other than that, coffee is not good for headaches and if you look at computer for long periods, you may want to try taking frequent breaks away from the screen to rest your eyes.

ok hot chammomile tea. do you have some mediative music and lay down. This should probally make you sleep and very relaxed, hopefully if you can focus on the music it will release the tension of the headache. I've also found that. When I have a headache the more I think about it the longer it lasts.

Have you tried the oposite..applying cold cloths to your forhead and back of neck?..you are needing to relax the muscles in you neck and head and the cold will do this..just sit back..eyes closed and do this..massage your temples too.. Huggs

I would suggest like what they said, lay down and close your eyes for awhile. Another thing would be trying some chocolate bars. Chocolates can help to relax and make you feel like a happier person. It's supposed to help you sleep better. But it might do you bad because it contains bit of caffeine i believe.

Why is it they say chocolates are good for headaches, so when I eat a lot of chocolate I get a headache. My solution to a headache, you have to be in the mood to do this. Lie down and close your eyes and breath in from the stomach and out of the mouth. Pressure point 14x's starting at the eyebrows. If that area hurts, then it's a sinus headache. Pressure point the eyebrow area and then the middle of the head, and then the two points at the base of your forehead, work now on each side of your neck. After this pressure point the web of your hand, that's between the thumb and your forefinger. By the time you get to this area, your headache should be gone. It's called reflexology or accupressure. I believe in it, it works most of the time. Sometimes I need a quicker speed, so I would take an Advil or two. Though I prefer the above method. Let me know if this works for you too. Lorraine

Two hours back I saw your topic and wanted to reply. Then I lost the post and could not locate it. Now I found it once again. How is your head ache now? Dried ginger paste is an effective cure. It willburn like God knows what. But it is effective. Secondly, did you eat late/ skip any meal? In that case a very hot meal with some steaming hot soup would help you. In our place we make hot pepper rasam and drink this. it is an effective remedy for headache accompanied by cold. You can also have cloves boiled in water and drink this water [2 or 3] You can have half a cup of ginger tea after a meal[not advisable to have it when you have not eaten for a long time.] Apply some balm on your head , draw the curtains and sleep in a dark room afer having your hot soup.

The first response mentioned banana. i forgot this. This is ideal and we all follow it at home. Glucose absorption is immediate and this gives relief.

Hi venkat! for a start coffee does not help headaches it postpones them. If this is happening to you a lot take a look at the environment you work in, like do you get enough light ? is the brightness on the monitor too high. If you use glasses does it happen when you wear them or when you don't? there are some eye relaxtion techniques like staring at a far away object( at least 20ft) and letting your eyes glaze over..this helps because your eye's get tired focusing on a screen thats less than 2ft away. as for remedies try rescue remedy which is good for almost anything.there is an over the counter medicine called 'Forehead' which usually gets rid of my headaches.

If you are noticing a correlation between using the computer and your headaches, you probably have eye-strain. First, try not to stare too intently at the screen for long periods of time. Break up your viewing, even if you have a job where you use the computer all day for input or research, you need to take little breaks. By little breaks, I mean just to glance away from the computer and focus momentarily on a distant object. Pick different objects at different distances to rotate through during the day. Do this every 5-10 minutes during computer usage. Your eyes are made by nature to be constantly scanning and refocusing, staring at one spot is unnatural and causes strain. Next, are you using a CRT monitor or a LCD flat screen? The LCD puts less strain on your eyes. Upgrade to an LCD. Third, beyond just scanning and refocusing, you might want to try doing a set of "eye exercises" at least once a day, better yet in the morning and again in the evening. You can search online for easy to do eye training exercises that strengthen the muscles of the eye and reduce strain. Now the suggestion you probably don't want to hear ... go to an optometrist and get an eye exam. You may need glasses for reading and using the computer. Often the eye develops a tiny warp called an astigmatism which slightly shifts the focus, particularly in the near vision range for reading and performing tasks within arm's reach. The effects on distance vision are often less noticeable.

I was going to suggest, laying down and closing your eyes, but I see you tried resting. You may want to get your eyes checked, because I use the computer so much I have ended up with bifocals, hard to get use too, but it has helped. Karen

Hi venkat2002! Whenever I have headaches, I usually drink chamomile tea and it does gives me relief and I usually have also a ginger salve. If I have none of those I have mentioned, I just rub my temple with ice and it really helps me a lot. Just my thoughts dear friend. Take care and have a nice day!

oh yes, i go through the same thing from time to time. they get so bad that there is nothing that helps. yes there is a remedy which really works on me dear. take a pot of ice cold water, even put a few cubes of ice in it to make it real chilled, try putting a drop of collogne in it. just a bit. take a hanky dip it in the cold ice water and spread the hanky on your head. lie down with your eyes closed. trust me at first the ice water hanky will sting you but it will give you immediate relief. hope this works my dear.

I think that by drinking lots of water and then sleeping afterwards would help. But I guess you already tried resting and it didn't work huh? I think one suggeston is to eat lots of bananas since it helps reduce stress and it may also help your headache.

Try to push the point between your eyebrows using your thumb, I read this somewhere and it works for me but only for a while, the rest of your fingers is on your forehead. or try to pinch the space between your thumb and index finger. tell me if either works for you.

i used to get migraines alot and i find that an ice pack helped the most. but if you get them all the time you may want to go to the doctor to checked out. it could just be from stress but you never know.

i am also spending almost 11 hours in front of the computer at work.. sometimes i also getting headache. i read in your post that you tried to wash your face with water. it is not advisable to wash your face after a long stay in front of your computer. it may add headache and may damage your eyes. what i can recommend is try to look at anything that is green. coz i read that green color relaxes your eyes. and if your eyes are relaxed, you will avoid or minimize your headache. be sure to have enough sleep coz less time of sleep gives you more head ache.

One of the pain doctors at a hosital where I worked recommended to take 2 ibuprofen, 2 acetephnomen (sp?) and drink a full can of caffenated soda. It works!

i have not been able to find any that really work so that is why i still keep ibuprofen in the house. caffeine can help sometimes but then if you are sensitive it can keep you awake and that can make your headache worse.
