Let's say that you asked for 20.00 and you received 2000.And it was after hours. What would you do?I would take the money home and first thing the next morning, I would go into the bank with the money. How about you?

Hello sarah!:-) Banks are skilled in draining your money and also in NOT allowing you to drain them, LOL! They will eventually find out who is the beneficiary of the malfunctioning of their ATM, and will do whatever will be in their power to not only take it back but also, maybe, charge you a fine if you are not the one turning it in! But, that's not the reason I would turn it in. I have my principles to live my life. The idea of living on someone else's wealth, hard work, or resources is a disgrace to me. The best enjoyment is in spending from what one earns with one's ow efforts as one can claim it to be theirs. So, even if there wasn't a possibility that I'll be caught, I'll still give it back to bank and will enjoy my $20 with the knowledge that I have full right over it!:-)

I would to the same thing. I know somebody that did and was charged with fraud, the courts sided with the bank it was an error and he knew he did not have 2,000 in his account so the bank was right in trying to get their money back.

There was such a case happened here some time ago. That person was finally put into the jail as he knew this bug and he withdrew money on purpose. In my opinion, I think this punishment is too serious. So I dare not to take away the money. I will return the money to the bank. I love China

I know you say you wouldn't trust the cops but I think that would be the first thing I did too. ATMs have cameras so they would be able to tell it wasn't robbery. And I also think most ATMs have a 24 hour phone number to call which I would do before I went to the cops. Then I would call the bank when it reopened to see that they got their money right and that my account had not been messed up.

I would also take it back....it's certainly not mine so there is no way I would even attempt to keep it.
