I was just looking my friends list and there are so many people there that I haven't seen here in ages...one person who used to be active was one with the name peanut in her name, then one who used to be active with the name of a Greek Goddess (artemis} another was a poet lover by the name of kelly....another had an apple as part of her name
WHERE ARE YOU GUYS?
The real frightening thing is that I have the private emails of a lot of my friends here and have emailed them and they haven't responded or sometimes my email bounces back as addy unknown
Does it ever concern or alarm you when you don't see friends here that used to be at one time very active? Does it alarm you even further if you have their private email and they don't respond?
Do you have any missing friends and no I don't mean ones banned or suspended either but ones that have just disappeared? I refuse to delete them with the hope they might turn up

i would say not answering by email is the more alarming.although it could mean they lost internet entirely.especially if they have a yahoo box,you'd never know until they came back..

One friend and I are concerned about one member..she did have liver cancer and now we haven't seen or heard from her for about two months, and we've both written to her private email--she wasn't old either.

Well I'm glad you didn't decide to delete me as a friend after being away for almost a year! I think life catches up with us sometimes and we go off and do other things! Since I've come back nearly 3/4 of my friends here have not used the site for many months! Hopefully they will come back! I wish there was a way of sorting out your friends lists so I could put these people in a 'gone but not forgotten' category so as not to delete them, but not having them cluttering up my friends pages as I like to go through my friends discussions quite often and find it a pain to go through everyone on my list trying to find someone who is still active! I guess some guess disheartened as there are some nasty people who use this site who will undermine you or make you angry and it's just not worth it! Perhaps some just don't think the earnings are enough to keep them here!

LOL--no I don't delete friends just cause they've been MIA..yikes I didn't realize you had been away that long...That would be a lovely idea to place a friends "Gone but not forgotten" section and just plain organize friends lists better in general

For the first time since I have been here... a few days ago I did a big clean up of my friend's list and deleted about 50 of them.
This included those who had been inactif for over 9 months and all those who had their notification turned off because they were spamming me with too many questions about nothing.

The kind of friends who post 10 questions in a row... and every question bores me to tears.
Those people are not my friends... they are mylot's friends. I prefer to call them "opportunists" trying to make a dollar by doing nothing.
They take one second to think of a stupid question and hope that they will collect money by having 60 people responding to it.

In other words, they start discussions, like, which do you prefer Coke or Pepsi? Which do you prefer...ketchup of mustard? What color is you hair?...eyes?.. Hehehe

I looked through the list of all my friends and, to my surprise, found that there are several who could be counted as "missing". There could be any number of reasons why they are not active at this time, perhaps they have computer problems or maybe they have changed email addresses. I would worry a little if I got no response from emails though

Yes, I've had a couple friends like that but then :) I've been one who nearly vanished also :( When I cleaned out my friends list a few months back I did keep 4 or 5 totally inactive members on my list (no activity for 6 months or more) just in the hopes they will someday return out of no where.

I'm sure glad to see you here again byfaithonly...I read some of the "problems" you've been having in your email to me. I have a tendency to keep all my friends on my list whether they've been active or not,..just in case they return

I was thinking about Artemis last night when I was posting here and wondering where she went. I do know that she moved a couple of times. She was looking into getting a job for awhile too. I can only guess though because I have no idea.

No. We haven't moved anywhere yet. Still stuck in New Jersey. 
My sister is moving to Langley which is only 6 hours from me, so that will make our remaining time better I hope.

I have lots here that havent been on in a long time one I know got married he never comes on any more figure he is busy lol.
I only have emails to 3 or 4 poeple here 2 of them I had as friends before mylot so we still email or IM each other.

I knew one user here too that last I heard was planning to get married--that was months ago and after that she disappeared and she used to frequent here all the time.

I've had two friends disappear for almost a year, who have recently come back. Others that have disappeared have come back briefly and then disappeared again, but they've all been ok as far as I know. They're just busy with other things, like moving house, work and coping with hospitalisation and recouperation.
They could also have come across problems with their internet connections, either unable to afford to keep it, or technical problems. I wouldn't worry too much, and I certainly wouldn't delete good friends who disappear for a while.

I never delete anyone on my friends list either with the cockeyed optimism that I'll see them again. I do know a few people, one in particular who is going through a very rough time as her husband is terminally ill and is touch and go..he gets fairly good then a relapse..the friend is besides herself as she has nearly lost him several times, so can only imagine the emotions she's feeling

Yep- I often times wonder what happens to people here and at other sites. I don't delete them either- in hopes that they will come back! I just figure that they get busy with their lives and they will be back when they can.
I don't have too many personal e-mail addresses from anyone here at mylot. I do from another site- and I'd be scared silly if they didn't respond or they came back undelivered- I think that if you are friends and you e-mail back and forth you should always tell someone that you are going away or something- so they don't worry!

I just emailed one friend last night (have her private addy) ...she's not here that often as she does have a lot on her plate...but I was extra concerned as she lives in Florida and was wondering if she is being affected with all the terrible wildfires that are going on there...Thank goodness..got a reply today and she's fine...but sending prayers still that she won't be affected as those fires are spreading rather fast

Oh my gosh - you mentioned me - hugs -. I've been busy with life - and I've been over at the HGTV message boards - you know the ones about the house they give away each year? The dream home - and this year they have a new home - the green home. Environmentally conscious home. I remembered mylot today and yep just here like a half an hour and I'm hooked once again!
I appreciate that you haven't deleted me. I remember the one with peanut in the name. I do worry sometimes. Usually if you or like Perspectives won't be here you warn us! I guess maybe we should all get into the habit!

I know I have been working a lot and have not been online much. It does alarm me when I can't get in contact with my online friends. There are some I have lost contact with totally. I don't like it, but there is not much you can do.

I have been a member for about 4 months and although I have a lot of friends on my friends list there are only really about a handful that are real regulars on here, so I know that I would notice if they disappeared. I notice when they have not been active for a few days as it is.
I have a couple of private emails but I am not in regular touch yet with some of them. I guess if the email comes back as unknown then it is possible that they have changed their internet provider or something and maybe just forgot to tell you.
I think that I would only be really concerned if I was in regular contact with a person and then could not get in touch with them, then I would just hope that they would turn up again at some point.

Well the thing is I have the private email address of quite a number of people here. One of my other MyLot friends here are REAL concerned about another member here...she hasn't been around in months...we've both privately emailed her and nothing, not a word and our mails must be going to her as they don't bounce back..she was known to have had liver cancer.....so this really worries the two of us and we're thinking the worse

Hi there pyewacket, yes I have a friend who has disappeared Scags, she was very active but suddenly disappeared. I sent her a msg but she hasn't come back to me yet. Another one of my friends told me she was going off line for a while so that one I don't count.
I too wouldn't delete any of my friends, I would just hope that they will come back. It is worrying though when you send them a personal email and they don't respond. Let's hope that they come back soon because we miss them!

That is probably the most nerve wracking when you private email them and then don't hear...this has happened with at least three of my on-line friends here, and also a friend I've known in "real" life for a long time..haven't heard from any of them and it really worries me

I really hope they come back in contact with you again soon, especially your 'real' friend. There is nothing worse than losing touch with someone especially in today's society where you can communicate with anyone and everyone almost anywhere around the world. I feel for you and sending positive thoughts over, hopefully they will contact you soon.

I know I have a lot of friends that have not been here in a while...I tend to worry about certain people...This might be called a wrting site but it is more like a friend site...Friends who turn into family...So yes when someone touches your heart and you see them almost everyday you do worry and wonder..It is only normal...:)

I have PM'ed some of my missing friends, and have gotten a few replies. One is having trouble with her son, and is also experiencing financial problems. I think her time and resources have limited her use of the computer. I do wonder about the other ones, but I've seen some people leave for months, only to come back later. I hope they all return, sooner rather than later.

It is sad but we aren't thinking. It could be the high cost of internet service. They could be offline because of money.When I don't hear from people I always think they are on vacation but these days it could be the lack of money. I hope they come back real soon.

Well it's more alarming in this case a MyLot friend of mine here and me haven't heard from one particular member and we both privately emailed her...this other member was known to have liver cancer, so we're thinking the worse has happened to this one friend

I have several on my list who seemed to have disappeared. I know one is doing some extensive traveling and only came here twice in the past year to let his friends here know he is still alive. Another got a job several months ago and has no time at all to come here. As for the rest, I have no clue where they are. I only have the private email addy of 2 of my friends here and that's it.

Crosa is the one who has been doing some extensive traveling with a few friends and mossjanicelynn found a job which keeps her very much occupied. As for the ones your talking about, they aren't on my friends list. I vaguely remember Oreo from some discussions thou.

Hi pyewacket! Yes, there are several friends in my list whom I haven't seen for a long time. A few of them just drop by once in awhile but I have two on my list that are not active any longer here. The other one, I just talked to by overseas call and she told me that she does not want to come back here because she was being stalked and had been hurting her discussions and responses. I just miss her so much. However, I have not deleted anyone from my friends' list thinking and hoping that one day, they might come back. Just my thoughts. Take care and have a nice day!

I don't delete any of my friends either no matter how long they've been away just in case they do show up again. Sometimes this is the case too...they are away for months and months and then show up all of a sudden...sure wish some of my other missing friends would though

yes it does and i think i got to the same spot recently whe i made a post similar to this to find out what the problem is and luckily for me they all responded in a space of one week of te post and i was excited to know they are fine some are yet to resopond though!
