Does Anyone Find This Ironic?

Okay folks time for a truly thought-provoking discussion to get those brain cells working and is in tribute to a favorite bear who has provided us with many discussions of deep thought that he rivals Einstein I was sitting here watching a commercial for that hair care color product for men..."Just For Men"---and it got me thinking....why is it men can cover and color their grey hair in five minutes while we women have to spend a half hour for the same effect? Why is it men complain as they get older, we women complain about growing hair in places we never had hair before (like our chins, or over our top lip)? AND WHY IS IT...there is never a long line to a men's bathroom in a public facility, while we women stand on lines from here to Terre Haute? In other words ...a long line? What are some of your ironies in life that amuse you no end? As you can see I started a new Interest...and yes, that photo is none other than me in one of my serious reflective moods

Yea for GRANDPA BOB As far as if when both the man and woman work there should be a real equal sharing of responsibilities don't you think...some families do of course, but not many

hehehe yeah, it is always ironic to compare men with women. but since my hubby has longer hair than i have, he naturally stays longer in the bathroom than me. hehehe good day! as long as we stay together and in love. everything is good.

There is one thing I envy about men, and only one. I envy that they get to pee standing up. It makes bathroom lines shorter, and they don't to worry about putting toilet paper down on the seat for protection. And they aren't wearing panty hose to complicate the process. At least I hope not.

Absolutely, agree with you there AmbiePam! It would be great to stand up (anywhere) and be able to relieve yourself without having to worry about 'being seen'.

Actually women can pee standing up. I saw my grandmother do it. She doesn't wear a panty anymore and she can pee standing up just like men do. She can even do it anywhere convenient.

I guess if a gal wore a skirt, w/ no panties or hose, she could just stand, spread and let it go, hummm, now there is an idea, shame I live in a windy area or I may just have to try that one, lmao

Why is it that there is never a toilet roll in public toilets, just when you go into the cubicle. Oh yes, as one who has stood in that great long line, I have to say that it is inevitable that a soon as I finally get to that cubicle, close the door, sit down, only then do I realise that there is no toilet paper :-(

A lot of good "ironies" mentioned already. I think the greatest irony I've encountered in life is that kids have an enormous amount of energy. By the time you get old enough to have kids, you don't have nearly enough energy to keep up with them.

I can actually tell you the opposite...I happen to know a woman who is to soon turn 76....yikes SHE has as much energy as a kid and puts me to shame being some 24 years younger than she is

that is why naptime is a blessing, would be nice if we could just bottle that energy huh. :)

You know, I have often wonder about these things myself. Women get the short end of the stick in a lot of areas. Like for instance, why do women have to have periods or pain through child birth? Adam ate that apple too, ya know. lol By the way, nice picture. lol

I checked the men's hair color product, and found that it contains unacceptable levels of lead, so that is the answer for me about that. I know there were moves to create "potty parity" in public places, but I do not know where those supporters have gone. I can not speak for many ironies in life, but one that comes to mind that common sense is not very common. People who are harmless get banned and trolls troll on. Ironic, huh?

Wow I didn't know that about the lead in the men's hair product..wonder if men are aware of this? Of course some women's hair color products are linked to cancer as well..usually the darker shades I think for some reason

I really like your photo..you're damn cute..lol..Isn't it ironic that when this woman forgave his cheating husband and took him back into her life men came to kill her in their own house...also when it's very hot outside and you didn't bring an umbrella it suddenly rains...why is it when you hit your quota at work they finally say your fired instead of good job. The irony of things...we have no answer to....oh well.

Yup--or either that or when we're in our "golden years" and have all the time in the world to do something since we don't have to worry about working, we don't have the energy to do anything to do with our extra time

Hi pyewacket! Here's one: Why do men mess up our house and they expect us to clean after them, while when we do the messing, we are still the one who clean after us? haha..Just needed to get this out of my chest. LOL! Just my thoughts dear friend. Take care and have a nice day!

Heres my couple of why questions. Why is it when a man is with a women half his age he is given pats on the back. But when I woman is with a man half her age she is frown at. Why do men get paid more for doing the exact same job, this has happend to me so I know it is true. the reason they gave was because he has a family to supportWhat?? So did I! Warning this one is gross, but how it women can wipe themselves clean after doing #2, but men always seem to leave some behind. Any woman who does the family laundry knows this to be true What is that all about??? There those are my seriouse reflective thoughts for today! hehehe.....

i've actually asked myself those same questions (except for the wiping of the butt part) and i think i have finally come to the conclusion that its just the way things go do to the way the world has evolved with man being the dominant spouse.i'm not saying thats the case but thats how we as a culture have evolved.

pyewacket so thats what that picture is,I wondered, a serious 'mood? right. Some of the ironies that amuse me are standing in a lone line and watching some macho guy push himself in front of all the women as if he owned the joint. Also watching a clerk wait on a handsome man or woman before he waits on the person who was actually the next in line and just an ordinary looking woman. And another irony is goingto the dmv and waiting in line only to be told you are in the wrong line.arrgh.

Hi there pyewacket, why is that women are terrified of the wrinkles appearing and spend an awful lot of money on creams to stop what is only natural yet men are allowed to look more 'rugged' as they grow older and more wrinkly? One of the biggest ironies for me has been sun bathing. There are so many people out there who are racist and don't like coloured skin yet every year they go off to a sunny clime and sunbathe so that they get a tan. Hyprocracy at its best! Another one is that all religions dictate peace in their teachings and writings yet how many wars are started for the sake of religion (please don't give me any religious bashing here people it is just a thought). We don't know enough of our own world yet we spend millions dashing off to outter space.... There are so many hungry people out there yet we spend millions on things like defence.. I could go on but won't! Brilliant discussion topic, thanks for sharing this with us :)

Yes, it's unfair don't you think? We women get "wrinkles" but men get "character lines" And no I won't bash you since it's been my feeling all along that many wars are under the banner of "god"--Or how about instead of spending billions of dollars for space programs when we use the money to try to "fix" up our own planet and environment?

why is it if a man let's his hair grow long it is okay but if I woman keeps her hair too short she looks like a man?

I looked at your photo before going to bed and had nightmares the whole night. Men can wash their hair in two minutes because they have short hair. If you have long hair... it takes a good five minutes. The same must apply when you color your hair. Men's public facilities have urinals... which can accommodate several men at once... which is why the queue is smaller. Public facilities usually only have three proper toilets because of space restriction. Men also grow hair in places they never had before. Like on our ears... on top of our nose... and inside our nose. Our chest gets more and more hair as we get older. But the worse part is having all those hair going grey. That spell "OLD". There are plenty of ironies in life... and that is due to the fact that people are full of contradictions.

Hi. Pye the avatar! You are back. Yea! Why? Simples For covering grey, women tend to have longer hair and they have different colors to choose from other than black. It is the hormones that make you " grow" that hair on your chin. And lastly, men don't need to sit to p**. And for the most part there are more stalls in the men's room than the ladies.

The only answer I can give ya is the bathroom question. It takes us longer to use the bathroom cause we actually have to pull our pants down, sit down for a lil while, then stand up, wipe and pull our pants back up, then straighten out our clothing cause the shirt never fails to end up being half-tucked when we want it out or totally untucked when we want the shirt tucked in. As for other ironies in life, I can't think of any for the life of me. Prolly cause I have always chose to just accept them instead of think about them.

Well Pye..i don't think we are as vain, but then I could be wrong..LOL..all the men i know are.. Years ago it would bother me when at company meetings they ( salesmen) would tend to talk to the men only and not look at me..when they found out that i was the owner..things changed, but those salesmen before i told them i wouldn't take their stuff, would get a lesson on how to check things out before they expected a man was in charge..LOL
