So I was out walking our new puppy and looked into the street and there he was. He is gorgeous. And so friendly he lets you pet his head and touch his feet. It has been awhile since we have had a visitor like this and it is nice. We will let him go in the back yard. So do you like "box turtles"? Ever kept one as a pet as a kid? We did all the time but then we lived in a more rural area where you seen them more often. I live in town now and just don't get the oppurtunity to see them much.

My mother-in-law used to have turtles in her back yard, but sadly they didn't last. Wow I've never heard of a friendly turtle before, at least not one that you find and automatically lets you touch it's feet and pet his head. How sweet is that? If I didn't live in a mobile home and our cat was not so curious, we'd have turtles too. I love them.

Oh this one is one of the friendliest I have had you can just about do anything to him, rub him under his chin, pet his head and feet. He will even crawl on you!! And he is pretty too has light yellow markings on his shell and body. He is a beauty.

Well as i was growing up we all sorts of pets..My mother was a hair dresser..And all the time streys would wind up at our home..We had birds.cats, dogs of almost every breed,We even had a squirl at one point..His name was pogo.. lol It would have been cool if we had a pet like that..But lived in florida..Though there are alot of sea turtles are common to see you can't realy have them as a pet..We did on the other hand have one of those mini crocadiles .. It was so mean.

Too funny!! We are in Jax Fl and this is our second turtle to be found in our neighborhood. We have two ponds here and are pretty secluded from heavy traffic. We have seen two big snapping turtles that wondered from the ponds to eventually be run over (so sad). We also have a flock of muscovee ducks, a peking duck and a little flock of mallards that live at the pond and patrol the neighborhood, not to mention our resident canadian geese. We have "squirrels" (little tree rats compared to back home in AR where the squirrels are much more robust) and a possum. So I guess we do have a little touch of nature here.
