My Hubby Came Out Of The Closet Finally.

Okay its not how it sounds he is remodeling my bedroom as a mothers day gift and well he was having some issues rehanging my closet rods and was getting stressed.....so when he was done he was so releived that he yelled finally I can come out of this closet. When he is done with my room its gonna be so nice he painted, built an arch around my closet and is putting in wood flooring. Ill post pics if he ever gets it done lol. So the question for this is.......What kind of projects have you done that you were proud of? If you cant do this stuff what do you do when you need work done at your place?

You sure do have a good hubby! With all of the hours that he works and then he is still able to be a handy man around the house as well! For me, I try to do what I can and if I can't, it usually don't get done, because I can't afford to pay any one right now for handy work around the house.

I usually call somebody. My husband is not handy in that sense and neither am I. He did install a shower a few years ago though and I was glad of that even though it took him forever to do it. He kept starting and stopping.

I just redid my dining room...painting and redecorating. I love it now but it was a challenge. When I need something done that I can't do myself my son sometimes does it....other times I have a handy man that I can call...

Thats awsome that he would do this, my fiance isnt really a Handy man, I'm more of the handy man around here LOL. But i wonder now if he would do something like this for me when we get a home. Right now my most things i get proud of is the walmart furniture we have to put together LOL. Funny. But now we are weeding out the walmart furniture with real furniture, then we are going to try to get a place, but of course not till our business is on its feet

Yeah gotta have the money first. We are slowly replacing things also. My hubby is very creative so he builds thing himself like the kids beds. He built them a awesome castle bunk bed once now my youngest has a bed that hangs from the ceiling it makes his room seem so much bigger.

Doesn't it feel good when things at home get accomplished? I personally don't do any of the big projects but my husband does. He just finished doing our entire bathroom. It's huge now. He knocked down the wall to a very small bedroom and turned it into one big bathroom. He's the decorator in our home.

I wouldnt know they never get done all the way hehehehe. A bigger bathroom is always nice my hubby just put a smaller sink to make mine look bigger as we dont have room to make it bigger but hes remodeling my basement slowly and i will have a big bathroom dow there.

That's funny that he said that. I am as lucky as you are because my husband can do these things. We, I helped but he did most of it, added a bedroom for my oldest so she no longer has to share a room with her sisters. And we built a laundry room that doubles as my craft room. Granted neither one of the rooms are completely done, they are done enough you can go in. My daughter room only lacks the trim. My laundry room lacks paint and a flooring lay over. But I am able to go in there and do laundry. Unfortunately, it's also become the storage room so I am not able to do my crafts in there yet.

My husband built new book shelves, as there were lots of book piles. We both enjoy reading, so the house looks like a library. I sure laughed reading the title thinking it sure is going to be noticed.

You are indeed so lucky to have a handy man around. It costs an arm and a leg to hire anyone and never mind that you're even lucky to find someone who has any kind of a clue of what to do. I've heard of some real bad stories of how guys have come into homes and literally wrecked the place. He's a keeper minnie. Keep us posted as to how things go and when the baby is born. How many children have you. Are you hoping for a boy or girl?

Some projects I do myself like replacing light bulbs, replacing toilet seats, hanging pictures, changing batteries in the smoke detectors and things like that. If it's something major in the apt. I call maintence. If I want a piece of furniture built I have to go looking for someone but my Mom does know a contractor that is really great at building stuff so I could probably get him to do it at a cost. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

My hubby does similar things around the house too that he is proud of and I know it takes time when you don't go businesses for their service but I guess it make it even more proud to say you did it yourself. It really then becomes a labour of love too. I mean all that sweat and effort involved. I can just see how nice everything will be once he finally finishes it all. We did some work in our bedroom and also made the ensuite bigger and more to suit our taste, the one that was there earlier was not only smaller much smaller but also not really our style or welcoming. It really is a different room now and we should be enjoying the finished product real soon I hope. It is such a sweet gesture that he is trying to redo your room for mother's day, kind of cute though too that he actually got stressed when he couldn't get the rods in properly. Hopefully he will finish your room and you can start to enjoy your mother's day gift.

We usually do it ourselves since we really can't afford to pay someone to do it for us.. It is getting harder for hubby to get a job done as he has artery problems (PAD) in his legs and can't stay on them for long, also he can't bend and kneel like he used to.. So we have to wait until he feels like doing it or it doesn't get done.. We have a few half done projects going at out house all of the time, but we work on it a little at a time.. Our last project was taking the carpet up to finally get to the hardwood floors.. The living room floor is beautiful, but the 2 bedrooms and dining room aren't finished yet.. We can say that we are proud of the living room floor so far..

LOL That one gave me a laugh and I couldn't wait to read the rest! I can't do anything like that anymore! My other half isn't too bad at most jobs although whenever he goes near plumbing or electrics I tense up and start to worry! We haven't done any big jobs really but I would like to! My brother is a joiner so I can always use his skills if I get the chance! xxx

WE call the manager who then calls a repairman who can come maybe tues or wed.or thurs but inthe next few days. then he comes and says he will be back in a half hour which turns into three hours or better yet he does not return that day. So I have resolved that problem as I call the manager, tell him I have errands to run and can no longer wait for the repairman and please can you let him in or give him a master key? Then the manager gives the repairman a key to my door and does his thing while I am shopping. Problem solved. Otherwise I would still be waiting for the work to be done.

well me being the husband and a carpenter at trade. I have done many of projects and unfortunately none of them are completely done. I either run out money or time. So we move on to the next project and start and not finish... it is like the old saying a plumber always has leaky faucets at his own house. For me maybe it is a self conscience thing because if i finish it then she wont need me around any more to do things for her they will already be done. LOL

LOL Oh My that was so funny. You are good at getting people's attention. We don't have projects anymore. We live in a camper. And even when we did have projects it took forever to get them done. He ran a construction business. He worked on building projects all day. He wasn't gonna come home and do them. lol
