Rushing to get ready for school

This morning when I woke my son up for school he said, but I am too sleepy. He had plenty of time to get ready still, so I decided to let him sleep a few more minutes. I curled up in bed with him and we both fell back asleep. I woke up at 7:20 and his bus comes at 7:30. I told him I would have to take him to school since he was not going to make the bus. He told me no that is ok and ran around the house getting ready for school. He told me he was going to eat breakfast at school and he ran down the driveway with about 10 seconds to spare to catch the bus.
Now on any other day he is dragging butt getting ready for school and I have to bug him to get ready. How much time do your kids need to get ready for school? Have they ever slept in and had to rush it?

I hate it when I oversleep, it is a nightmare, I have 3 kids to get up and get ready in a morning so I cannot afford to oversleep!! I get up at 7am and then I get the kids up at just after 7.30am and then by the time I have actually got them out of bed and downstairs it is nearly 8.00!!
We walk to school and it takes us about 15 minutes, it should only take 10 but my 2 year old has just started walking everywhere so it takes a little bit longer!! We have to leave the house no later than 8.45am.

My hubby sets the alarm.It goes off between 6-7am. Now he will sometimes stay in bed. But he makes sure we are on the ball. So it hasn't happened yet. My daughter takes about an hour to get ready.
