This is what the thieves call their fiesta thieving week. For the whole week the thieves were annoying us for stealing our cables from one area to another. Its seems that everyday they have an area to steal the cables thus affecting our communication and our dsl connections. Its really annoying as customer service officer phone in in charge we are flooded with so many calls and eve others getting mad for a very slow service. I just hope these thieves be caught and suffer the consequences of their actions. The sad thing have learned about thsi is that our city has no law against cable thieves and they are released.

Good for you there, here the law is not yet complete and we just hope for the law makers to complete it coz it has become a very great problem and millions of money have caused such stealing.

Hello Zelmarq!:-) It happens in my country too, sometimes, and I don't like it when someone is spoiling the fun and facility for others without having to pay not only for the services but also for the consequences of their wrongdoings. It appears that they don't have self esteem that they allow themselves to benefit from things that are not their. I do hope that these people suffer the consequences not the ones who are paying for it.

This problem started a few years ago and almost all of the telecommunicatios companies here were victimized by these men, they were silent for a while and now they came back with a vengeance.

This is a problem in many countries, and it's not only cables that are being stolen. Anything that has scrap value could be taken. These items are easy to turn into cash at scrap merchants, and you need cash, and a lot of it nowadays, to feed your family.

Yes, I thought its only in the Philippines and now I realize that its a common problem too. They make a lot of moneyfrom the cables and they like doing it again and again.

I haven't experienced this myself Zelmarq but it really does sound frustrating for those that are affected by it! Lets hope something is done to stop it really soon! xxx

Hi Zelmarq! What? It is still a crime to steal is it not? I do know that life is harder this time but the "end does not justify the means". I just hope people will realize that it is still a good feeling to have decent money in the pocket. Just my thoughts. Take care and have a nice day!

we had somebody breaking into our cable box repeatedly for awhile.i had a idea who it was, there was only one neighbor close enough. they got busted on their own though, they decided to hook up to the pole somehow and the cable truck caught them.hope that $100,000 fine was worth it to them.

Stealing cables.. thats the first time i heard of that. It looks for like a prank to me. Even if they stole the cables how much copper can they harvest to sell? i do think it is much..but seriously thats annoying, what if someone needs an urgent call..do this thieves even think when they do this. They should be arrested and put behind bars for a long time..
