Hey everyone. In the past few months I went from 122lbs to 104 lbs. I'm at my correct weight since I'm only about 5'1". I lost the weight by cutting down on my portions. I want to tone up now and wondering what I should do. Should I do resistance training followed by cardio first? Or cardio then resistance training? I just want to get rid of some of the flab. Thanks!

Congrats on your weight loss. If you want to tone your body you need get some resistance training. I suggest using the elastics bands or dynamic bands to workout. By using the elastic bands your are gonna get a good cardio workout as well as a resistance workout. Of course always warm-up first. But if you wish to use weights than you should not combine cardio and resistance training on the same day. You should do cardio and than on the following day do resistance training with warmup. This way your muscles in your body can recover and be ready to go. But remember when you start weight or resistance training please get a proper diet its better for you. Optionally, you can purchase anti-oxidants, muli-vitamins and glucotamine(for joints and bones) supplements to help along the way, i am taking those for my daily workouts..

So I should alternate my days between cardio and strength training? I do have a bowflex. I guess I really like where I'm at weight wise but could definitely tighten things around my thighs and tummy mostly. I do take multi-vitamins currently. I'm also thinking about getting Jillian's 30 Day shred workout video. It looks really good for cardio and strength training at the same time. Thanks guys!

Depending on your weight training intensiveness you got to alternate. But i guess with bowflex you do not really need to alternate. Yeah workout videos are great to use if you want to invest. But it is also useful to research on some workouts that would give you comfort and result as well.

first congratulations on your losing weight. I wish i can do that also. I also want to tone up my muscle 'cos i am like the lazy type of person so i have this bat-wing thing arm. So what i decide to do is to do gradual and aerobic exercise and not those heavy ones that will get me more muscles from fat

I am toning up as well from cutting down on my food and not eating inbtween meals. I have a board that I stand on and twist, it counts the twists you do and the calerioes you have lost. It is very good and as it is so small you can esierly put it in a bag, suitcase and take it with you. I took mine on holiday with me. I don't know where you live, I am in England and I got my from Avon, Argos do them and I'm sure any good excerise shop will sell one. mine cost me about £10 in english money. Hope this helps you.
