June gloom here in May and where has the sun gone?

I hate days like that. Because for me they can turn my mood into a real depression if I'm not careful. This is what I do if it's not storming. I close the drapes, turn down the thermostat, light a fire in the fireplace, put on comfy clothes and my favorite big, floppy, warm sweater, make a pot of tea and a tray of finger foods and cut up fruit, lay it all out in front of the fire, pack the pillows around and lose myself in a really good book for hours. Usually I fall asleep, but until I do, I'm cosy, comforted and entertained. What a treat!

Hatley, I hope you don't let the clouds keep your personal sunshine away. I'm your neighbor down the road away (south). I've been feeling really grateful for the cool, even if it's more cloudy than usual -- because I remember last summer when the temperature was well into the hundreds day after day. Those days will be here again, so if it can be cool a few more days I'll take it! Hugs, Joyce

Hi there Hatley Well we have had the most gorgeous week here and it is still hot We are hoping that it will stay this way and have a good Summer this Year not like last year where it was cold and wet all the time But yes it depresses me when the Weather is all gloom

The weather has really been crazy lately. It's supposed to be summer here in our place but I haven't really seen the sun much these days. We have heavy rains almost everyday here and it is really such a shame because my son was looking forward to bright sunny weather this summer.

I tend to be just the opposite, I love rainy days. I can sit for hours and watch the rain come down, and it freshens the air and makes everything look so alive. I also love snow. Now what I don't like is being out with the hot sun beating down on me. I guess I am just a gloomy day lover. I do enjoy the very beginning of Spring, before it gets too hot, I like to sit outside and feel the breeze, and watch the birds and lizards all coming out and making their nest.

On the contrary to you I have been as happy as a pig in muck all this week because we have had sunshine and blue skies all week, so I guess that is where your sunshine has gone, sorry. It does affect my mood though, I think it is horrible when a day is all dull and miserable it just makes me feel down in the dumps.
