i'm driving around and I see a couple of houses that still have their Christmas lights up. C'mon Its May now. I was talking to my father-in-law about it and he said a lot of people leave their lights up year round. Do you leave your lights up year round??? if so why???

I live in Texas and have heard that it is against the law to leave outdoor Christmas lights up year-round.... Anyone know if that's true?

I take my lights down about the second week of January. I think if you leave your lights up too long it kind of takes away the specialness of the holiday. That is just my opinion though each to his own.

Yeah actually I do... Silly huh.. No actually I do it because it's just much easier for me, being so busy during the holidays It's just easier to keep up and plug in when the time comes.. Not to mention it's always nice to see different lights threw out the year.. Nothing wrong with that... Christmas lights though are more softer on the eyes than a normal light bulb too.. Just my oppion!

No I don't leave my christmas lites up year round but they were up quite late this year due to the amount of snow and ice we had. I usually try to get them down as soon as I can but this year was very hard. We had a really cold winter and not about to freeze taking them down.

I'm from windy old England and it's generally accepted to be bad luck to have your christmas decorations up after the 12th day after the 25th Dec. I haven't noticed any up past the end of January I don't think
