i want to share something to those who have lots of books in their house... i have lots of books too so my friends usually borrow from me. sometimes i forget what book or books they borrow, or who borrows this and that. so i decided to have my own library cards. i even made them borrowers card so that they can't deny they still haven't return the book's to me and so that i know the titles, authors of books i owned without looking at the bookshelves

Hello fellow book lover. I normally borrow the books from the library. And so, I seldom buy books. I do buy them occasionally but that is because the books can't be easily found or because I want to support my favorite authors. I don't lend them out too since I haven't had anyone ask me before (lol). But from what I understand, most book lovers do not like to lend out their books - not because they are selfish, but because books lent out are usually as good as gone.

I keep a spreadsheet of all the books I have read since I was in grade 7 when the Librarian had us keep track of the books we read that year. I continued it all my life (over 30 years now). I print out the spreadsheet and have them in a folder that I carry with me in my book bag so I can be sure I don't buy or borrow a book I have already read. I also have a different page where the titles are broken down by author, and one with yearly totals. I have read over 800 books since I started keeping track.

Lol wow that is a plan. We have loads of books in our house (they're my mum's) and Im really the only one that borrows them, and my boyfriend... It's a plan though - could start a mini business with that one.

This is a pretty cool idea. You could also do it with movies. We lent a guy my husband works with a movie and he finally returned it 4 months later..lol.
