18 children!!!

Anyone here watch the discovery channel tv show "The Duggars"? They are pregnant with their 18th baby!! That is crazy. She has been pregnant for 11 years all togehter. I couldnt emagine having that many children. They all seem happy and healthy. I only want 5 but whatever god blesses me with I'll be happy. What are your thoughts one this family?

not really very long ago.. this size family wasnt that uncommon. my mother was the youngest of 13.. an ex of mine was the baby of 16.. not to mention countless others ive known that were part of very large families. granted back in the day.. birthcontrol wasnt as accessable as it is now.. which id say goes to show that this family.. with all thats available to them.. CHOOSING to have a houseful.. is a rare and wonderful thing.

Yes it is. I would like a big family but not sure on how to manage money wise. I give alot of credit to this family with everything that they have done. Thank you for your response.

I don't have a Tv, so I am unable to wach the show, but I think it's crazy!!! hey seem to be having babies in order to further their own political and religious beliefs. It scares me the way the fundamentalists are multiplying. What is he USA going to be like when they all grow up and hae 18 children of their own?

I think that is alot of children as well. They seem to be well taken care of and lots of love as well. That would be kind of weird if each of those children went out and had 18 children of their own as well. That's alot of grandchildren.

My aunt had twenty kids so this doesn't amaze me at all. My Mom had ten kids and all of us on both of the family were healthy. Not so long ago people didn't get amazed at large families. Because it was common place. So she is not the first women to have a lot of kids. But I would say in this day and age it probably is a wonderment.

I know it's not uncommon for 'back in the day'. All I am saying is that I know I would personally not want that many children right now with how expensive everything is these days.

wow 18 children thats alot. and tessah is right it was not too long ago that peopl had that many kids. but in todays day and age were everything is going sky high how do you take care of 18 children? i'm struggling with just two.
