So how was your Mother's Day?

Mine was very nice and pretty uneventful. I got gifts from the kids, we ate leftover pizza (lol) & had my mom over for cream puffs. So how was your special day? For you "non" Moms (guys included) did you get to spend the day with someone special to you (mother, mother-in-law, etc.)?

Mine was pretty quiet. I didn't get to see my kids, but they both called. Neither one of them could come for the day, one just had a new baby last week and the other is waiting for a new baby to arrive. The one with the new baby is coming this weekend, and I will go see the other one (about 4-5 hours away) when their baby arrives. I would like to go see them more often, but with current fuel prices we can't afford to go as often as we would like to. Still it was a nice day, I spent most of it relaxing and my spouse took me out to dinner.

Sometimes low-key is better! I understand with the price of gas.... 4-5 hour drives can take a paycheck now!! LOL I'm glad your day was nice.

My daughter told my mother on Saturday night that she and I were taking her out to dinner on Sunday, if she was up to it. Since I'm unemployed, I was planning to make supper at home, something she hadn't had at home for a while, so Debra's offer was something of a surprise to me. Mom was pleased about it and said she thought she'd be up to it (she's 91, blind, and is on oxygen 24/7, so isn't always feeling up to going anywhere). Because of the last minute decision, we decided to go to one of the many local diners in the area. There weren't many there when we went at 3:30. They had a special Mother's Day menu with marked up prices because they included "soup to nuts", but we ordered off the regular menu instead. Mom ordered Filet Mignon while Deb and I ordered more low key fare (I only had $20 on me). Mom took her first bite and before she even began to chew was saying, "Mmmmmmmmmmm, that's so good!!" LOL She LOVED IT!! Said it was one of the best filets she'd had in years. She talked about it the rest of the day. Then, last night, my son called to wish us both Happy Mother's Day and put his fiancee on who told us that they had finally bought the wedding ring and were hoping to be married soon before a justice of the peace and have a ceremonial wedding later in NJ so my mother could attend. Well, now she has two stories to tell about her Mother's Day. The Filet Mignon and the wedding ring were her final topics of the day until she went to bed. She had a good day and was very pleased with everything. I'm so glad Debra decided to do that. Between the two of us combining forces, we made Mom's day. I hope everyone else had a good day, too.

How sweet. You're so lucky to be able to spend the day with both your mom and your daughter! It sounds like they both enjoyed it with you!

Mother's day is also my birthday so it was a double celebration. I gave my mother a dress, a mint green dress. I also gave her a framed photo of her and my father. It was taken during their 2006th wedding anniersary.

It was nice. I got flowers from my husband, a song from my daughter and a poem from my son, and lots of hugs and kisses from my 4 year old. Also got taken out for a steak dinner, it was nice.
