Do You Read and Respond to Every Post Your Friends Start?

I have wondered if there is anyone who has done this, or would this be not advisable? I know some people may write about topics that would not be ones I am interested in.

nope, I have some people on my friends list who just added me because I was the first person to reply to them. Now I try and see what the person is about before accepting them as a friend. I look over their posts, but will only reply to ones that I am interested in :)

I cant seem to keep up with all the different posts that they start so much as I would like to say I try to help my friends out the honest truth is I'm too slow to be of much use to anyone... If I come across a discussion I am interested in responding to by one of my friends I will be sure to answer it but there isnt any sort of hunt for discussions by mates on my behalf... How about yourself?

I can relate... There is no way I can keep up with everything on here, and there are some subjects I just do not feel is worth answering. Good Luck with MyLot. Having Fun Yet?

I try to get to as many as I can. Sometimes I have trouble relating to the topic though and go on to one I can relate to. Then if I get the time, I go back to those others that I find more difficult.

Every day that I come to myLot, the first thing I do is check on my own discussions and make a comment to everyone who has responded since the last time. Then I go to my list of friends and try to respond to at least one of their discussions every day. Sometimes I have responded to all of their discussions, so I go onto the next one. If I still have some time available, then I will go back over and respond to more than one from some of the others. However there is no way that I can respond to every discussion started by every friend. I only respond if I feel I can contribute to the discussion though and I try to make quality responses. Initially I accepted everyone who requested to be my friend, but now I am more discerning and check out their discussions before I accept them. If I find after accepting someone as a friend that none of their discussions are to my taste, after a while I will delete them. Similarly anyone on my list of friends who spams, "steals" another discussion from someone else, does "cut and paste" responses or does not respond to my discussions, they too are deleted. Harsh, maybe but friends help each other and there is no point in having as a friend someone whose interests are not similar to mine or whose principles are opposed to mine.

I have actually deleted some more people from my list of friends today because they are not responding to any of my discussions, even though they are here at myLot every day. Some people only want to respond to the "easy" or "humourous" discussions it does seem.

I don't. I don't have any friend yet. Should we read and respond to our friend discussions?

At first I responded to every one. Now I've found I just can't keep up. I receive the notices in my e-mail when my friends post. I read the subject in the e-mail, and if I feel the topic is something I can contribute to, I respond to the post. If not, then I don't.

That is a Great way to look at it, because if you have a lot of Friends who are always starting New posts, then it would be hard to keep up if you replied to every one they start.

Well, I try to be polite and respond to some of my friends posts from time to time too. Problem is my friends list is really getting Big so I do what I can when I can, and go from there.

I find it very hard to answer all but i try to either choose a friend each day and respond to as many as i can or respond to a couple of each of my friends post a day . I also try to respond to everyone that responds to my posts .I hope i am doing the right thing but it is very hard.

I always go in and respond to anyone who has responded to my posts whether they are my friend or not. Sometimes it takes me a while to do this, and I only respond to one post per any discussion I have started per day to try and help keep them moving.

You must not have that many friends though if you can Read and Respond to all of their New posts all of the time. I know I do try and follow some of them though when I see New stuff posted when I can.

buddy buddy! - buddy buddy
I at least check out each of the topics my buddies post, but I only respond if it's something that really interests me. I've ended up with some of the "hyper-posters" as my buddies, so my myLot emails collect at a huge rate. I did set up a folder and a filter for them, so I'm working through them as quickly as I can. I usually open the emails that say I have a response first, and I try to keep up with the activity of my referrals in particular so I can support them. I know that it takes me quite a while to get all the way through those mylot emails, and I'm hoping that the same is true of my buddies, so that my discussions with few or no responses will see some more action!

I created a special mail folder for Mylot emails as well. It is amazing the rate at which they appear and without some form of segregation I would end up losing track of them altogether.

Well, how I feel about this, is why Add someone as a Friend if you do not like the Topics they have started and never take time to respond to them?

A lot of times I find myself just following my friends around! :) I respond to their topics, maybe respond to topics they've responded to. But a lot of times, I just search hot topics, or no response topics.

I have tried so hard to follow a lot of my friends New posts, but one Bad thing is my Friends list keeps on growing, and not everyone posts things I may be interested in responding too, so I do what I can when I can.

That is a Good way to do it too, as I know I answer discussions I find interesting all of the time too, and sometimes they become one of my friends, and other times they just are interesting to respond too.

I reply to as many posts as I can but it is very difficult too especially if there are a lot of posts so I reply to the ones that hit close to home or I have an opinion on.

I know... I am never able to catch up. And then when you continue to Add more Friends to your list, it makes it even harder. But I Love myLot, is why I keep on coming back.

No I never respond to every post my friends start. I only respond if I have opinion or answer to the specific post. My priority is browse through "post with no response" and will answer as much possible.

So you never try to help out your friends on here? How can they be a Friend, if you do not check out what their interests in life, etc. might be.

Don't I know. I will never get thru all of my Friends discussions, but then if I am one of your friends, it would take you awhile to get thru all of mine as well.
