i know this sounds like crazy but my bf is torn between me and his childhood dream of visiting to China coz he was fascinated by their culture. i told him that we could go together later when we'll be established independents. and he worries a lot of ruining my dream of being with him in America.

Does he want to move to China, or just stay there for a while? How long does he want to stay for? If it's just a few months, then let him go. If it's a year or so, why not go with him, then move to America after? My fiance always talked about going to Japan and when he goes it'll be for a year. So I decided I couldn't be apart from him that long and I will go with him when he goes.

That is a very difficult thing to have to go thorugh. Perhaps if he really wants to go, then let him go. If he truly loves you, he will return to you. It's difficult when one has a dream that has finally come true, and has to decide on what to do. I wish you both the best and whatever happens, happens.

It's nothing wrong to visit China. But you should advise your boy friend to visit there at the right timing. I am not sure you guys really talk about it, but understanding and communications is very essential to come into good agreement. Besides, is he going for a short trip there? If it's, I see nothing wrong for him to go alone. If he is migrating there, then you guys really need good planing, because it's going to involve a lot of complexity. Good luck to you and your boy friend. Nice trip too, if you guys really make it there!

As a chinese I am glad that your boyfriend likes China and wants to come here. But I also want you two to be together and not bothered by this issue. I think there must be something you two can do to make your relationship work and last. If you really love each other, making some compromises is unavoidable. I mean compromise from both of you. Not for you to give up your dream, he should also do something for you. Maybe he will give up his to follow you. Anyway, hope you two have a happy future.
