Actually you can use a capo in the middle of a bar gig while trying to find easier chords when you need to transpose from one pitch to another (except going lower than the standard tune)without changing the actual chords you use, it pretty works well for me

A capo is used to change the tone of the guitar or any stringed insterment. allowing the player to play in one cord or key on the neck but sounding another, in other words put the capo on the 5th fret and play in G you will actually be playing in C. It makes it easier for people who has a limited cord use to be able to play in flats as well as sharps. Doug
