Thanks mylot. Through a discussion at mylot I heard about Helium and the fabulous amounts that could be made there writing articles. Well, I did not get the fabulous amounts but I did earn my first $0.01 for one article that I wrote a while ago. I don't really believe that I am that good enough a writer to earn tons of money writing like many who are also here with us at Mylot. But earning my first cent is really wonderful news!!!

Congratulations! It is always exciting to see your work getting read, even if it is only in dribs and drabs to begin within.
I write at Helium as well, I am about to reach my first dollar article which is a bit exciting as well! Though I can clearly remember my first cent (it took a little while)

Thanks for making a response. I am beginning to think that there are many Helium writers here at mylot. It is gratifying to know that you are about to reach your first dollar article. It makes me sense that maybe I could experience the same at some future date.

HI people,
I am a member of Helium and earn great money. The way to think of your articles is long term. I was a bit scared at first that I would earn nothing and laughed at the pennies collecting, but now with 1300 articles, I am not laughing at it any more and earn loads. You see, all those articles go on earning for ever and the more good quality, highly rated articles you have, the better the earnings and they have now introduced a new payment scheme which gives writers even more chance of earning more.

Hi Rachel, Thanks for the tip on how to look at Helium. I should have that point of view and just keep on writing regularly and maybe I will build up a list of articles worthy of being called a library. Thanks.

Well that is just really cool. I've been a member of helium for more than a year and I haven't really earned much but I haven't been participating anyways. I've earned $1.16 but hopefully I'll start participating more now so that I can increase my earnings. I'm also going to try the Marketplace and see if I get one of my articles bought. Good luck and I hope that you earn more than i've earned so far.

Yeah I know I got discourage too but then I just decided to let it be and focuse on other stuff. And I just try and go back whenever I have the time.

For a long time nothing was moving in my earnings page and that almost sent me to discouragement. I do not have time for feeling blue though because Mylot keeps me busy and my earnings here are constantly updating so I said, let it be, let Helium be and I never expected anything to happen there. The reason I did not expect anything to happen at my Helium account is because my articles did not rank high enough in comparison with the other articles, except for one where I had 1 for 1. There was not other article in its category so it romped away with the number 1 spot.

You just go to helium.com and sign up, fill in the forms and they teach you how to get started right away. They have cool videos to let you know what you can expect from helium. Good luck.

Well you have rather a long way to go to reach payout at Helium, so don't plan on spending your earnings just yet!
I have earned 87 cents at Helium, plus $10 for an article which was sold. I think the only way to reach payout is to sell in the marketplace or win contests. Unless I can do more of that it will take me years to get my payment.
My first article has now made 24 cents and that was one I wrote for a contest about three months ago. I have written twenty more articles since then and most of them have earned at least one cent.
I think to earn more you need to promote your articles, as the more people who view them the more you will earn. I have not done this so far which is why mine have not earned very much.

Congrats on selling an article. I haven't had that pleasure yet and I am in no hurry to get rich at helium. I am just beginning to see the possibilities. One of the things I noticed about myself when trying to write at helium is that I really need to discipline myself if I am to succeed as a writer. Cheers!!!

You are quite right, Helium is not just about making money. I think it is very good practice for the discipline of writing articles. When I joined I intended to write at least one a day, just for the practice. I really should go back to doing this. Finding topics I can write about is not always easy but that makes it more of a challenge.
