With the way the prices of gas going up and up, do you think that your summer plans will change? Will you stay at home more or will you continue with the summer vacations and trips to the places you usually go, if this going to affect you in the long run? Me I was going to Idaho and see my brother but have changed my mind and have rescheduled for a later time to see what happens ...What are your plans.?

Hello MNflower, this summer we were not making big plans to begin with, we were trying to save for a bigger vacation down the road. But I can tell you that putting money away just for that has become very difficult. My husband is the major bread winner in the family, his employer only gave a 2% pay increase the beginning of the year yet the cost of living has skyrocketed to double what it was for us last year. Hard to sock away vacation money in that light. like you we will see what happens down the road.

I plan on making my backyard, my vacation...I'm adding things that I will enjoy to make staying home more intriguing. Putting in a pond and waterfall! In British Columbia..our Fuel is $1.43 a Litre...that's 6.77 a gallon, with another 2.5 cent increase of Carbon Tax on June 1st..they are predicting gas will be $10.00 a gallon by August. Our Hydro (power)just went up 7.5% April 1st...another 7.5% Sept. 1st...our cost of Living, up 27%! Staying at home is the best option...as all these increases will be reflected anywhere you go! The Island I live on has many beaches...so here is where I stay! Rainbows to all!
