I have a little Yorkie, Rosey who's pictured as my avitar picture. Do any of you have Yorkies? I think they are very smart little dogs and are lots of company. I love dogs, all animals really, but dogs are my favorites. I've had several purebreeds but I think the Yorkie is my favorite.

I love yorkies too. I have an over-grown one who has his bluff in on me. He acts like he is going to bite me if I do something he doesn't like but when the groomer gets him alone he is a little angel. Go figure! But when it is time to go to bed he is right there with me. He loves to snuggle at night.

yorkshire terrier babies - this is how yorkie pups look like but they sure grow up to be very elegant dogs. a yorkie is a good choice of breed.
yorkies are good with children that they grow up with. and really, it depends on how you raise your dog. yorkies need a very firm hand in training. they are willful and stubborn but very smart. do not underestimate yorkies. if you plan on getting a yorkie make sure you are very patient with raising two kids (the yorkie and your son). yorkies are fragile dogs so you have to make sure that your child wouldn't mishandle the yorkie, and vise versa. unfortunately for me, my chewy is spoiled and not very good with kids. it takes a lot of time and patience before he gets used to any kid, before he starts getting all sweet and friendly with them. before you buy your yorki i suggest that you take your baby with you in visiting the puppy to check if the dog is okay with your kid. yorkie puppies are very gentle so i think it's really up to how the puppy was raised. i hope this helps.

Yorkshire Terrier - Yorkshire Terrier in a purse. Where they belong.
What do you all like/dislike about your yorkies? I have known a few and really like them. We are considering getting one. In fact, our neighbors have pups that would be ready around Xmas. Not sure I can make the financial commitment right now. Might be better to wait anyway, as my son is only 20 months old and we need to fix our fence. But I am still interested in learning more. Are they good with kids? How about barking? I think they are just so cute. Personally, I would normally be way more inclined to rescue a mutt. A yorkie is the only purebred I've ever considered. Our neighbor has three of them and they are so cute when they play together. We would probably really like to have two, but I bet that is out of the question! So, please someone answer about these adorable dogs!

What, I don't understand what you're saying? I have mine cut in a short cut as she lives in the country and it's much easier to keep up. She had her hair long for a while, but it was a problem.

I Love my yorkshire terrier. He definitely has a lot of character and he is so playful. He is the smartest dog I have ever seen and I am thankful for having him in my life. As a nursing student I barely have time to enjoy the day, but my little baby takes all the stress away when he begs to play fetch. He is just the sweetest thing!

Your little dog is so cute. We have a yorkie called Savannah. She is also cute. We got her about 6 months ago when she was just a year old as, can you believe it, the first owners did not want her because she was 'naughty!'.. They have missed out on so much fun with her. We laught at her everyday. We are probabbly going to emigrate next year, and she is coming with us.

I a yorkie boy named Marley. He is 2 years old and 5lbs. I started training him (sit, stay, bring it here, etc)when he was younger and it had really helped in certain situations. I think Yorkies are a lot more hyper than most breeds. The Yorkie is my favorite breed also.

We have a Yorky/Maltese, 3 years old, very smart, very sweet and we laugh at her everyday, she does such funny, cute things, what a character. She loves everybody and thinks they come just to see her. Even when we took her to the nursing home, she acted like everyone was there to greet her, what a clown. :)
