There has been such a spate of natural disasters lately, earthquakes, flooding, tornados, etc., all resulting in an enormous loss of life which made me wonder. Do you think that this is God's way of reducing and thereby controlling the world's population?

I have to disagree with your reference to "all of disasters" Some of the recent ones that happened are natural disasters in very poor areas of the world and cannot be blamed on these areas contributing to global warming caused by large industrial modern cities.

I really have no idea whiteheather but I do not think he would be so cruel as to cause indiscriminate suffering and pain. It really is heartbreaking to know that so many have and are suffering and experiencing the devastating pain that has been caused! xxx

I think it’s rather about “What you have done towards the others, now this is the time it’s being done unto you”. I mean, some people just went ignorant about the neighborhood, the nature, the life, the earth, the civilization, the animals, etc., and even treated all of them bad, made destruction here and there. And now all these things are being casted back onto their heads. Some would also state that the humanity has corrupted and this is a kind of judgements that has been started by GOD. After all, when someone becomes really ignorant, the other needs to shake the person real hard to wake him / her up to reality again. Perhaps this is how the GOD shakes human race. This is how I think about it.

Hello whiteheather,I dont think so.If God wants to control the population then he do not need to use floods or earthquakes for that.He can control before the birth.I mean he can stop the creation. For me i think all there disasters are some experimetnts to humanity. Thanks

Interesting theory and a possibility, but I fine some problems with it. First of all it fails the natural selection and survival of the fittest test. These recent natural disasters have killed or maimed many children and I just don't see that as part of an overall plan. The areas that have been affected are left uninhabitable as well as being left ripe for further devastation through lack of food and water and onset of diseases. The affected area is relatively small when considered on a global basis. Considering this as a means of attrition for the human race is ok but the effects of said attrition are very localized, and not really effectively controlling the world's population.
