I did an article recently about positive self talk and affirmations. It got me to thinking that I'm not practicing what I'm preaching so to speak. Overall, I'm a positive person. I always try to look on the bright side, and help people feel better about themselves. But, when it comes to myself, it's different. I am always putting myself down for one reason or another. So, I thought it would be a good idea to list my on positive affirmations. 1. I am a nice person 2. I have nice eyes 3. I am a good Mother 4. I am a good wife 5. I have a cute nose 6. I am a hard worker 7. I have done pretty well with my writing 8. I am a fast learner 9. I am a good daughter 10. I am a good friend What are your positive traits? Was it hard for you to think of them? It took me a little bit to think of ten. The ones about my appearance were the hardest, because I don't really like the way I look right now. I need to work on being more positive about myself. I knew this already. What about you? When I was young I suffered a lot from low self-esteem and serious lack of confidence. Over the years I have grown into a much more positive and self-confident person. I never think of myself in a negative way now. I am no longer held back by worrying all the time how other people see me or what they think about me. How I see myself is more important. You suggest a good method for increasing confidence, and there are more in your article. I think you should follow your own advice and see that it is pointless putting yourself down. Life is far better when you have a more positive attitude and other people will notice a change in you and respect you more for it.

Hi Sunnfir:) its nice that you have a topic like this coz i can relate to it too. I sort of have low self esteem but im developing and getting better and being self confident now. the listing is a good start but sometimes i sort of confuse my humility as low self esteem:) there were times before i depended on what my friends think of me as how i look at myself. for instance if they appreciate me, i feel fine throughout the day. but when they do say i look pretty or something, i sort of just shove it off and never think myself as one. but i do know i have good points, i have always trained myself to keep my feet on the ground:) and now i tend to look at my strengths for instance how i get through problems and obstacles in life and how i handled criticism:) and what matters most are what the people who loves you thinks of you and how you see yourself growing and how you actually deal and approach people in your life everyday
