I am not using vista actually, but I heard from my friend that vista indeedly has some prob with its software compatibility and works slow on lower equipped computers. So you might need to upgrade the equipment of you computer and then it can work faster.

The biggest issues I've had with Vista is that some of the programs out there, especially games, aren't equipped with the proper drivers for Vista yet. It's getting better though. I personally haven't really had many true issues.

i am using vista from last one year and i am not suffering such problem specially slow down the main reason behind it, may be, is that vista require atleast 2GB RAM for its operation and i have 3GB on my laptop what is the quantity of RAM on your pc try to upgrade some amount to 2GB then may your problem get solved...:)

My fiance switched from XP to Vista a few months ago. He had never ending problems with Vista and ended up switching right back to XP after not too long. None of his computer games were Vista compatible and we couldn't seem to find patches to download that would make the games compatible with the new operating system. His computer, like you said, would run very slowly. I'm perfectly fine with my Windows XP and after seeing my fiance struggle with Vista, I have no intentions on ever looking into switching lol.

I really want to switch back to xp but then that would mean downgrading the laptop which i am scared to do incase anything goes bad with it.. i would have to buy another... vista doesnt even work with my printer, nor webcam... it jus simply sucks right now
