Response for a response

Do you like it when you respond to a discussion and the person that starts the discussion comments on your response or doesn't it matter to you if they acknowledge that you posted on their discussion. It really doesn't matter to me one way or another but I personally try to respond to everyone that posted on my discussion. How about you?

Hi Jill, I like you always respond to someone who has taken the time to respond to one of my posted discussions and I must admit I love it when I receive a response from a response I have left. I also have someone on my friends list that I always respond too and have not once had a response on any of my discussions from them or any response back and earlier today as they post so many I was in fact considering turning my notifications off, does that sound mean. I think a discussion is a two way thing. I don't expect a response back everytime but a little bit ofgive and take surely. So no it doesn't really matter but it is nice eh! Ellie :D

No that's not mean. I just did that myself. Some that sign up to be your friend....start about 10 discussions a day and don't respond to yours....I am with you. It's a two way street!

Hello, Jill. I like to respond, but not all of them. Sometimes i don't have enough to respond, and sometimes i just can't think up things to reply, sometimes i'd forget. But let me be honest, i always try my best to respond as much as i can. When i respond a discussion, i sometimes don't expect a response, but if there do have one, i'd be happy. If a person never responds and keeps posting discussion all the time, i'd gradually quit reply. I myself don't know why. Maybe i just need a conversation, two-way

For me it really dosnt matter. All Icar about is whether or not they read my response. I would hope that the person who started a discussion would read my response and who knows my response is the one that helps that person and if they dont comment back that is fine...IF I helped them even secretly I am happy with that.

It doesn't bother me but I do feel appreciated for my time and effort if the person starting the discussion acknowledges my response. I feel important for a very short time..lol I do respond to everyone who responds to my initial discussion.

I'm with you on that. I try to respond to every comment. I've yet to get so many responses that I can't keep up with responding back. I'd like to try though.

Although I appreciate and try to read all of my responses - usually through email, its too hard to go through every single one sometimes - 'specially if you post then go a way for a few days and come back and you have lotsov pages of responses for each topic. I sometimes spend hours just responding to responses or going back and choosing best responses from unresolved though. I think its great you try to answer each one!

Absolutely, doesn't help the part of me that wants to be polite and answer every post though! :)

If someone says something that I can respond to , then I do comment. But there are some posts that say it all and I don't have anything to add. so I read it and rate it. I have some best responses where I didn't comment. But they were so well written that I had nothing to add.

i like it when the discussion author responds to my response. and its nice if a conversation develops because we get to know each other better. that's why i do my best to respond to all the responses in my discussions. and i know that there are some people here that gets offended when their responses are not commented back.

I think it's polite to respond so they know you read what they took time to respond with....so I try to send a reply too.

I like to respond to everyone that responds to me but sometimes I get overwhelmed and cannot get them all written. When someone does respond to our responses then we do feel good that they took the time to answer us but I do understand that it really does take a long time to do that.

Yeah, I will try to respond to everyone that posted on my discussion regardless good or bad as they have made an effort to commend, spent time to read and type, which I always appreciate very much.

Greetings, jillhill. Because there is so much to do in a day, it doesn't bother me if myLotters do not acknowledge my responses. However, if they do, I try to consider whether to respond back. Sometimes, more questions follow and I simply must reply. I, too, make every effort to respond to every response to the discussions I initiate on myLot. Take care. PearlGrace

That is so right.....it's the way you get to know them and understand them.....and it strengthens a relationship.

I don't mind, I would rather someone didn't reply than just replying with "thanks for your comment", but lots of people on here seem to get really angry if you don't reply to them, so I reply with "thanks for your comment" just to save a discussion being created to rant about it.

Initially i used to respond to each and every post. But since i was falling short of time and had lots of other things to take care of i stopped doing that. I only respond to the posts if they really need to be responded to. I expect the same from the other person. I do not expect the other person to respond to all my posts. ~Pinks~

Hello there, jillhill. I think that it's not possible to respond for a response and there will always be new comments and answers coming up. I make it a point to read everything though, and I mean that, really. Because I appreciate the efforts made by mylot members in trying to answer or comment, so I read them all. But I don't make it a point to answer to all. I've tried to sometimes, and I get real focused that I neglect answering their discussions. LOL.

I think its nice when people respond via a response, this is a good way of agreeing with the person or showing your view through a different perspective. If you know the person who replied, its nice to have a conversation with that person. I dont respond to everyone who that posted to my discussion unless I feel it needs a comment or need to add something!!

I am sure that i will comment on others' responses to a discussion which is started by me,because others' responses mean that they have ever paid attention to your discussion, which is an encouragement to the person who starts the discussion, especially a new person who comes to mylot not so long time, just like me,hehe.
