When I see a guy (homeless) asking for money on a street corner, I try to judge whether or not they're sincere and 9 times out of 10,I give them a couple of bucks. What do you do or think?

I don't give bums money cause I can't help but think they're going to use money I give them to buy a 40 instead of food or something, but at times if I have some loose change in my wallet, I may give it to them. But I did happen to run into one in Columbus before and they were really nice. He wasn't hassling me for money, instead he talked about how he had to sleep outside several nights and his life was finally looking up and he finally got a job. People like that I wouldn't mind giving money to when I knew they were being sincere about everything.

Ok. I do this regularly... If I see that the guy is actually fit for work, I will give him 5 cents. They would normally stare at me. I would stare back. I just wanted to let them feel ashame of their actions. I am doing them a favour by spurring their will to fight and really start looking for a job. But... If they're really suffering from disabilities, I've got no qualms about helping them. Without a doubt. In Singapore...you see very different scenarios. I've seen old ladies who are perfectly healthy...that begs for money. The moment you try giving them 20cts or 50cts, they will literally start cursing and swearing at you. Haha...so much for trying to help. Just try to help those that really needs them.

Cool! Its good you take the time to atleast think about it. I'm not saying I like them there and I think its okay, but theres alot of things in the world we would change if we could and I don't think begging is one of them. Its been around far longer than you or me right? And, I've seen one guy get out of a cadilac he parked in the McDonalds parking lot once. NOT COOL!!!

You are a compassionate person, be careful that you dont get cheated. It is difficult sometimes to judge people by how they look or behave. There are also charity organisation that you can checked out to see if help in other forms can be given. There is a saying that goes like this : Give a man a fish and he will feed for a day, teach him to fish and he will feed for a lifetime. Help does comes in many forms. Cheers.

I would rather not give away money to him as i think by doing this im ruining his future as of he will not get money he will try to study inspite of begging

In a perfect world maybe, but some guys are just out of choices in life and if we happen to help one that IS able to help himself then we haven't really done any harm, so I say buy the man a burger!
