Back in 1995 I was bitten by a friends small dog. One of the things I had to do was have a tetnus shot. Apparently, those shots are only good for 10 years. Which means I am 3 years past due. How about you. Do you even remember?

I honestly do not remember the last time I got a Tetnus shot. So, I am guessing quite awhile. It was probably the last time I had to get one as an immunization when I was a kid.

I just had my tetnus shot back in........October when I ran a roofing -Nail up My Foot. That Bugger was in there pretty Far too. Man .....that Hurt.(Oh My God........I just realised.........Our roofer was out the weekend Before. He left Holes in the roof! They're kindo' peculiar looking too ( ??????? ) I had to yank it out , and then it didn't bleed very Much.) Sidenote: the Small dog that Bit you......... was this poor , defenseless creature left on " Someone's " doorstep for a very long time? In the swealtering heat , without so much as a Bowl of Water. Did I.....ooops.....I mean did it leave nose prints all over " Someone's Glass door????????? How " exactly " did you receive said Bite?

She said that it was a FRIEND'S small dog. Don't you have friends? I do. And my friend has cats, as do I. Two people can have the same thing, you know. Also, she's very good at owning up to her mistakes. And come on, it's a SMALL DOG. Doesn't matter the breed, small ones are notorious for biting people, especially in the ankle area, hence the nickname "ankle-biter". It doesn't matter the circumstances under which she was bitten, the point is that she was, in fact, bitten. Sounds like you have a guilty conscience, going into all that detail about the sweltering heat and no water.

Actually I don't recall getting a tetnus shot so it has been awhile. I will have to ask my mom to be sure. I haven't had one that I know of in about 20 years so I am due for one. But I'll let you get one first then if it hurts let me know so I can chicken out, yes, I am a chicken ,especially when it comes to needles..why can't they have them in pill forms atleast it is easier to handle.

I cannot remember the last time that I had a tetnus shot. I think it was back in 2000 when I used to work for the state of Indiana. I worked at a place that housed handicap children and we had to get yearly shots when we worked there. I also worked in housekeeping and that made us vulnerable also to have those shots.

I just got one in March, thanks to cutting my finger on a can lid. When the nurse asked me when my last one was, I told her I thought it was when I was pregnant with my youngest, who is turning 7 next week. In a snooty manner, she told me that you don't get one when you are pregnant. I honestly thought that was one of the first shots you received. Silly me.

I cannot remember, which probably means way to long ago.

My last one was about 7 year ago. I got one during my regular check-up because I do a lot of carpentry work at home and work. Before that was my first one when I broke my arm falling off my bike when I was 10. I guess the tetnus shot was really because I got several cuts, not the broken arm.

2 years ago when I got a nail lodged through my toe. I was dismayed that I was unable to receive the tetanus as a stand alone shot - it had to be combined with pertussis, which I did not wish to receive.

I heard that they're good for 5-10 years, depending. Last time I had to get one, my son was about 9 months old. An old oak tree fell on our outbuilding during a storm, and when I was helping my husband salvage what we could, I stepped on a nail. Yes, I was wearing stout shoes--it went THROUGH the bottom! Anyway, I had to go get it properly cleaned out, and they gave me a tetanus shot. It had only been 4 years since my last one, but they gave it to me anyway. When I asked why, the nurse said, "Tetanus shot are good for 5-10 years. If you step on a nail, or something like that, you have to get a new one anyway." It didn't make any sense to me then, and it still doesn't, but it was the third time I've stepped on a nail, and that's what they said every single time. I think I am a nail magnet. First time, I was 11. Second time, I was 16. Third time, I was 20. AAAGGGHHH!!! What is the point of getting one in the first place, if when you have another accident, you have to get a new one again?! I don't know, either!

It was right around 1996 or 1997...it was either a requirement to get into nursing school or a requirement to get a job after. Regardless I am overdue.

I think about 50 years ago.. I have a deathly fear of needles and everytime the doctor has ask me how long since my last tetanus, I usually lie and say a couple of years ago.. That is, if I even go to the doctor..
