self respect...

I never follow orders off anyone, I never have starting off with my parents I never listened to them either or did what they said. That is mainly what got me into a lot of trouble through my life. I sometimes listen to what I am told, if I am being given friendly advise, but if I feel that I am being told what to do then it gets my back up and I just go and do the total opposite!!

I have self respect. :) Though you may be in a relationship, always remember that you are an individual capable of thinking for yourself. :)

Yes I do have self respect, but that does not mean that I do not do things for other people to make them happy sometimes, even if I do not feel like it because that is what friends are for, but I do not let them dictate to me, what I should do or not do, that is my choice and my choice alone.

There is a difference between orders and suggestions. If you ignore all suggestions from those that love you, you are just asking for trouble.

I have a great deal of respect for not only myself but my friends, therefore we do not "give orders" to each other. Friends talk things out and if the outcome is going to involve both parties they come to an aggreement on how to handle the situtation.

I think if anyone wants to order you about, then they don't respect you much as an individual. Also I believe that if we respect ourselves first and foremost, then we attract others who will respect us in turn. We can sometimes without realising it, when we have low self-esteem, give out a subliminal message to disrespectful or even abusive people, that because we have a low opinion of ourselves, we will put up with their respect/abuse. I think anyone who wants to dominate, dictate to, and control anyone else is nothing but a control freak and a bully. By all means it's fine for a friend/lover or whoever to make sensitive suggestions, as that's part of a sharing relationship, but it surely has to be 50/50 and not a demanding thing.

I have a lot of self respect. I am the only person I know that I will be with for all of eternity, therefore I need to love and respect myself in a way that nobody else can. In respecting myself this way, I can make sure that no one else takes advantage of me.
