Why are you HERE?

I know why you are here. You are here - to socialize; to earn; to strengthen your grasp of English; to relax and have fun; to build new long lasting relationships; to enrich your knowledge and acquire a deeper understanding of how the world operates; to develop your communication skills. Maybe for all or any of the above reasons. But hey, that's not my question.
I would like to know why you are HERE, on this planet, in this universe. I'm not asking you how (which I already know) you are here, nor am I interested in where and since when you are here, but I desperately need to know WHY at all are you here. What are you here for?
Are we all here to sleep, wake, chat, eat, earn, spend, love, marry, age and die? Or do we all have a purpose of existence to fulfill? An individual lifetime mission to accomplish? Have you found the purpose of your creation, if at all you believe in it? Could making your life a mission make it more meaningful. Would you bother thinking in this direction at least? Do care to share.:-)

Well, sometimes in discussions like these I have been a bit harrassed for what I say. But I am just sharing in all honesty why I think I am here. I am here on earth to serve God, to praise Him, and to be an encouragment to others. I think we are all here to supplement each other when our courage or hopes fail us. I think this life here on earth prepares us for the afterlife. And when my work on earth is done, I will be joining a lot of others in Heaven. I don't often live up to my purpose, but I would like to think each day I get closer to completing my task in life. I would like to think I am going to be in the end who God created me to be.

I'm sorry that you have been harassed for voicing your opinion. I don't want to talk about others, but I can assure for myself that you'll never need to dread being frank and open in my discussions.
I hope you can and will be proactive enough to ignore the derogatory remarks that barely matter anything and move on to the more meaningful and thoughtful ones, the ones which spring from obviously sound minds.
It's interesting how you correlate our present life with the afterlife; and it makes sense that you believe your purpose of life is to serve the lord. Although not directly, I think we all can serve the almighty through the service of mankind and all that are god's creation.

I am here because I was sent here. Maybe there is a real reason for my existence and I may not be aware. I guess my existence is more than enough to add one more headcount to the universe, bringing happiness and sadness to people which adds life to the universe. Life would be boring if all behaves the same.

I think my purpose here on earth is to spread the word of God to others and help others that may need me. I feel that I am here to lessen the burden of other people around me that may need my help.

I believe everyone is put here for a reason, whether it's a big reason or a small one. I don't know what God's ultimate plan for me is yet, in other words, what my reason for being here is. Maybe it was just so that I could have three daughters. Maybe so I could be a teacher. There's no telling really. Whatever the reason is, I know it's important and that is all that really matters.

I am here so I can be a bane to my children. Just this morning I was told I was worthless and did nothing. And that my wife made a mistake to marry me. So I am here to torture them according to the middle child.
Other then that I am here to enjoy life. Even with all its pitfalls and all my health problems, To be loved and give love, To honor God. To respect my elders. And to grow flowers to make my yard pretty.

This is definitely one of those tricky discussion where immediate response will result in a stupid answer.
Why am I here? I really don't know but one thing for sure, God had given me life (or will I say lend) and a chance to either follow Him or not. The bible speaks about the purpose that we have in life long before we exist. And this purpose will only be made perfect through Jesus Christ.
Why am I here? Maybe God wanted me to share the love that He made known to me and be a blessing to other people. To become a river or vessel of His great love and affection to other people.

i am here to make other people smile. just seeing others smile and have a wonderful time brightens up my day. i think that life is always supposed to be fun. whatever you're doing, it should always have a certain amount of fun in it. when it stops being fun, then it becomes a chore.

At first I was interested in earning money here. But as you know, the earning is pretty low. I am still addicted here because of some good friends here. Besides, I like to see my posts grow as I envy some Mylotters have over 10000 posts. What a surprise! And I love to show my thoughts.

I am here to participate in a discussion. When I first join in, my main goal is to check if the users are active in making and responding to discussion. A few dollars is cool too since you get to earn while you participate and ENJOY the discussion here in mylot. It is really good!

I wish we had answers to that. I do believe thoughthat if I am here may be there is a higher purpose then merely sleeping and eating. When the time comes may be we will know or we may never. As you see its a tangled web of life. If my son and grandson also do something well somewhere there I also was the reason they were born that way at that point -so you never know what purpose you are serving in this vast expense of time.

I believe I am here, in this Universe, for a purpose. I have been blessed with many talents that I have used in my working career, as a mother and grandmother. I have made life easier for those I have helped and my life has been full of good friends and neighbors that have been a blessing to me.

I had my purpose why i exist here,maybe its that to lend some help to the people who are sick,to take good care with them in the hospital.Thats why maybe i become a nurse...nurses lifts spirits,touching lives...

in life i always wanted to be some kind of hero who can change other peoples lives for the better, to some people it sounds rubbish but i don't mind... i thought maybe i can do what i always wanted to do here while i'm still young and still can't explore outside that much....
