I'm not sure why I did it, but I'm now a Twitterer. Kinda cool if you don't have much to say. Do you Twitter?

No, I don't and I looked at the website for it before and I thought it was really stupid lol. I don't care what other people are doing ever, unless they are supposed to be doing something with me, and I bet they feel the same way about me. That is just my opinion though, I know a lot of people use it...

Molly, that is so funny, as that was my first thought also. But then I decided to give it a try. The jury is still out, but it is beginning to look somewhat useful, but mostly in conjunction with a monetized blog.

I'm still contemplating whether to get twitter or not. hmmmm... But it's a good way to put summaries and updates on all your blog spaces huh?

I put my twittering on hiatus. I guess if I blogged more, I'd probably twitter more, but work and family keep eating into my free time.

Yes, I am on Twitter and it is fabulous for networking with other people with similar interests. I've made some excellent business contacts on Twitter. As to how it works, well you just have to do it to understand it. Join, search for other friends and contacts who might be on Twitter and "follow" them. "Tweet" about what you're doing, a great website you've visited, something interesting like that. (Nobody wants to know that you just got up or you're going to go take a nap.) When you "follow" other people, see who they're following and you follow them, too. If you follow someone who tweets too often or tweets about things you don't have any interest in, just don't follow them anymore. Simple as that. Really! My twitter id is on my profile. Feel free to follow me! (I'll get a notice when you do and I'll consider following you.) If you have an online presence (and you do - you're on MyLot! - then you should be on Twitter!

I have not jumped on the twittering band wagon. It just seems silly to me to post online what you're doing all the time and why that would be useful for networking? I don't plan on joining or using it unless something really inspires me!

I just don't get how this is better than them having an away message on AOL Instant Messenger. Or better yet, just call them and find out where they are...

Would you call them though? I have a twitter client set up on my laptop. When someone updates, a little message is shown in the bottom right for 5 seconds. It is just something to let you know what friends are doing- before you call them. If they say they are busy studying, you don't have to bother asking if they want to do something else.
