What do you guys think of the "Secret"? Do we attract everything that happens to us? Both good and bad? I still find it a bit hard to believe. And what is this "thoughts become things" all about. So if I think of money I get money . . . right??? I am not convinced . . . what do you think??

I'm sure it isn't all that simple. But I do believe in positive thinking methods. Have you read the book "The Power of Optimism". It really makes since if you read into it.

It makes sense when you talk of positiveness but how do you keep positive and optimistic when your circumstances are just hopeless? It's hard not think of anything else except your miserable situation. But thanks for your response anyway. . .

I'm going to tell you briefly, how I got into this and how I came to see the truth in it. They say that when you're ready, the teacher will appear. I guess I was ready because I saw something on the internet, about The Secret movie and I immediately bought it, and watched it over and over again, and was fascinated. Then, I found out that one of the people in the movie was offering free, online discussion classes about it, so I subscribed and attended everyone, taking notes as they spoke. I tried to make it work for me, but some how, no matter what I did or how hard I tried, nothing seemed to work well; and I was a little aggrivated at myself, because deep down, I just felt that it was the truth...but I was missing something. About that time, I purchased some meditation CD's and was working with them. I figured that if I just relaxed, I would be able to come up with the "secret" ingredient to making this thing work. A couple of months went by. The meditation CD's did, indeed, help me to see things more clearly, but I still didn't have the answer. So I kept searching. Then, one night while on the computer, I found a site about a person who was a "channel." All the information that she was channeling, was in regard to the Law of Attraction! I listed to every singe CD and saw every single DVD that this woman had ever made. Finally, after a couple of weeks of listening and watching, I was sure that I had discovered that "secret link" to making this thing work. So I tried it...and I tried it again...and again. Three times in a row, and it worked, every time! I was amazed, shocked almost, when the things I wanted, came to be. Two of those things happened, overnight. The third took nearly two weeks. But in the end, I was very pleased with myself, and very grateful that I had discovered how to make the Law of Attraction work. And you know what? Anyone can do this. And if you're trying really hard, you're doing it wrong. It's easy. I swear! Send me an e-mail and I'll tell you the details...and you won't have to attend classes or pay for it. The knowledge of the Universe should always be free, for those who search for it.

Hi Les, thank you so much for taking your time to respond to my question. I want to know more . . . I want to know how I can make the law of attraction work for me just like you did. Can you please help me. I think it is a very generous offer you have made, most people do not want to share this "secret link" as you call it. Thanx Mamuzo

I havent read the Secret and in all honesty have no desire too BUT yes we do attract what comes to us HOWEVER its not as simple as "if I think about money I'll get money"...For me (and I've seen this in action in my own life as well as others) every thought, feeling, action etc is what we "put out" into the world and is what we'll get back...So if you think about getting money but not in a detailed way you wont get what you desire OR you will but with consequences... As far as good and bad happening to us...yes in a way we do bring it on (for the same reason as above) BUT again its more detailed and deepr than that...Things happen in our lives because we learn from them, we grow from them etc AND I believe that to an extent we decide before birth each life what lessons we need to learn for that life so in that sense we do bring it on ourselves..

The Movie and book about the secret was a wonderful way to let the world know about the potential of positive thinking, no matter what your opinion of if it works or not. Awareness is the 1st step to making some changes. The very fact that it has you and millions of other people talking about it is a good thing as it creates awareness. Many people however try it once or twice and then give up when they don't get immediate results. The only negative thing I will say about the movie is that it gave the impression to a lot of people that all you have to do it think about something and it will happen immediately. Fortunately this does not happen. In order for something to work for you, you do have to know how to use it. Even a TV has a manual for it and we should really read the manual in order for us to know all the real benefits and how to use them all. The problem, in my opinion, with the Law of Attraction, is that for the majority of the world, not only do they not know how to use it, they don't know where the manual is and even what the law of attraction is. The Law of Attraction is more than just wishful thinking, but rather a way of life. It is part of the Universal system and the Universe and how the Universe uses energy must be understood to a certain level before you can really appreciate the power of the Law of Attraction. I suggest before people give in after trying it for a few hours that they read certain books (and not just the commercially available ones), but some of the classics that explain things like theosophy and the law of gravity and how the Universe works. I absolutely believe in what we call the Law of Attraction and it's potential for changing our lives. Be Abundant. Tim
