Handicapped Parking...Have You Noticed?

Before I got my handicapped placard, there seemed to be so many parking spaces for the disabled. Now that I can park there, the number of spaces seems to have decreased. I guess it's just me. Have you noticed? At the grocery store, the handicapped parking spaces are close to the door. But there is no cart corral near the handicapped parking. Have you noticed? At some businesses, the handicapped parking is nowhere near the door. That's true at the closest pharmacy to our house. The handicapped parking is on the other side of the driveway. I wonder why. And at the physical therapist? The handicapped parking is not close to a door. Seems strange to me. Have you noticed?

I have had handicapped plates on my car for over 20 years now. And you are very right. It seems that there are less and less didabled parking spaces at the stores. Everytime I go someplace, there is no place to park. At the pharmacy, the handicaped spaces are not in front of the door, they are further away.A lot of places the handicaped spaces are not really close to the doors.

It doesn't make sense to me that the handicapped parking places are now farther from the doorw. Weird.

I have noticed this as well. Several places around here will have them at the far ends of the building. They place them there along with a small ramp for getting on to the sidewalk but then you still have to go quite a distance. The one Rec Center my niece goes to has them four lanes away from the entrance, it's a good distance and we've complained to them on it. I don't know why they do this. It's very frustrating and limiting. There are times when parking in a normal spot is actually closer then the handicapped. That isn't right.
