Have you ever utilized the savings coupons from www.restaurant.com? We do not have any participating restaurants even remotely near enough to us so I have not been able to use them for ourselves.... however, It has been a great gift giving source for me, and they always have sales going on. For instance, for Mother's Day there was a 70% sale happening - it normally costs $10 for a $25 certificate - with the savings it was only $3. I also go through my mypoints account and earn 6 points per dollar (every little bit helps) So, for mother's day I gave my mother a $25 gift certificate to a restaurant she has not yet tried.... it gives her an opportunity to try out new places without having to set out a lot of money to see if she likes it. the restaurants list the price range of their menu and the cuisine, they often have their website that you can check it out ahead of time.

Yes. I use them quite a bit actually. They are part of the mypoints program, so I get a ton of them for places that we normally go. Since the minimum for most of the orders has to be $25 or $50, we end up getting an appetizer, drinks, and dessert along with the meal. With all of that, we usually have enough left over for a whole extra meal later on that week. That makes it even cheaper! If you sign up for their mailing list, they will alert you to the $3 sale mentioned above. You can just go look on the website too, but i never remember until it's too late. The $3 deal is usually for $10 gift certificates, but sometimes you can get really lucky and get $25 gift card for $3.

I haven't found a site like that here in the UK Modestah but it sure sounds like a good idea to make eating out at a new (or even a favourite restaurant) without having to pay so much! xxx

oh that is too bad, hopefully one day someone over on your side of the world will initiate such a program. I see there is http://www.local-restaurant.com/ for the U.K. but it appears that it only tells you what restaurants are in a given area.

you can use it without using my points - but if you use the mypoints it adds 6 points per dollar spent. the mypoints points add up quickly - I have currently around 9000 mypoints - I just cashed in 3900 for $25 gift card to panera bread - I should have cashed in for a gas card!

Nope, have never heard of them. I might just check it out. I have family visiting soon and wouldn't mind making use of something that offers coupons. Thanks Modestah.

I have been wondering about Restaurant.com lately as I am also a member of the mypoints and we go out to eat occasionally. Sounds like a good program. I think I will sign up using mypoints. Get the points and save some money at the same time.

We haven't ever go to use them because they are not good for places in our area. I wish we could take advantage of it.
