An Apology To My Friends~~But I Really Need To Do This

Nope....I'm not disappearing or leaving here, but I just plain won't be as active here as I have been. I love, love, love MyLot and I particularly love my friends here and the camaraderie I feel here. I do spend a lot of time here...uh, perhaps too much? As I thoroughly addicted to this place, but I have to admit I've been neglecting something. As many know I'm involved with a lot of projects, from my photo work, writing an e-book about the whole business of marketing photography...there will probably be another e-book in the making, and of course my article writing. I never actually did article writing until only last year when I finally got my own computer, but had done writing before....fictitious writing that is. I've had a few short stories published, have scores more ideas for more stories, and have about three novel ideas which I've actually started but in spurts. Since my article writing has been taking a lot of time away from my fictitious writing, I just plain haven't been doing any of my stories...and I know that is what's been missing in my life lately. For those who can't understand...to be honest I think any writer of fiction who suddenly doesn't write their stories will get downright well, moody...I've actually have suffered bouts of depression every time I haven't been writing my stories..okay call me temperamental..the classic moody writer..LOL. Yes, my article writing has somewhat filled the void and at least I'm writing..but it's not the same Since I do still need to write articles to earn a little extra money, I'm not going to stop that..but I DO, really DO have to get back to writing my fiction. So you may have noticed that I haven't been as active as I've been in the past...I make sure to give replies to responders of my own discussions, but have to confess I haven't been making responses to many of my friend's discussions...not from indifference but due to lack of time...as I am trying to cut down my time here..why? I made a solemn vow to myself a few days ago, to go back to my fiction writing...after all, those stories won't get written by themselves. I was initially only going to write just a little bit each day, maybe no more than an hour...but what can I say? I've gotten so involved with my current novel that the time really whizzes by and next thing I know it's 1 or 2 in the morning. That's how involved I get. Yes, I'll still be here..LOL..but just not as much as I used to be. Oh, and if you're wondering...the current novel I'm writing was one I started last year and was handwritten...and now transferring it into my computer...it's a story from, what else, a cat's point of very and there are many very autobiographical elements to it of my life but written from a cat's "voice"--uh, betcha can't guess the cat's name...hehehee I also have a sci-fi novel, and yet another novel as well in the works but my cat one is the one I'm currently working on. So to be a discussion here. Did you ever have to "let go" of one thing or at least not spend so much time like you did, because you needed to buckle down and do something else...something that fulfilled your life? I once did a poem to describe that creative energy in me...not exactly Yeats, but.. The Muses I feel dead, empty, lifeless, depressed, without it. Life would have no meaning for me, without it. What, prey tell, is it? My creativity. It doesn't matter what I create, for I create it all.... Art, music, writing. It doesn't matter if it's great, good, fair, or bad. I must create. Only then do I know I'm alive. My creativity is my passion and desire. It fills my life and soul like flames of fire. ©M. Neer (You can see this poem I wrote at http://www.editred.com/Uploads/st_18167_The_Muses )

Hehe...My mom's fixing dinner, so I get to sneak back here....yup she's doing a lot of writing...she has a lot of the story handwritten for when she started so she's typing it in this puter thing...but she's adding a lot to the story...she sure is funny though...to get the words out just right she talks out loud to herself.....sheesh.. Yup so she is writing the story from my viewpoint...she's going to add Kissy into the story too,...mmm..hey it's my story..is that fair?? Mom just finished another article...but after she eats dinner she's going to start writing in her book again..oopps hear her opening a can of my food...I'm STARVED.

You are very talented my friend. You are going the right direction. I am sure all your writing is going to be very popular. Do what you have to do. I am not going to be much on Mylot myself due to my extensive work schedule and plans to go back to Europe soon. I think that year 2008 is very good for all artists. Stick with your ideas and your instincts. We are here for you when needed. HUGS

My dogs and my cat are going to stay here. I wish I can take them with me, but they will get frozen in baggage area. They are going to be fine for a month or so. They are better in own home than traveling anyway. My trip is not for pleasure. I am going to go again to take care of my sick mother. She is terminally ill. She is under palliative care just to reduce her symptoms and pain. It is very hard time for me Transdisc. The only reason I don't talk much about it is to keep positive energy to work and help my mother in her last days. I am sleeping a lot and I watch comedies to stay sane. I don't know when I will go, it depends on her condition. I was with her over 3 weeks in April.

Yes, this is exactly how I feel. I am the one who needs to stay positive. I also ask my friends not to ask me how my mother is doing. I am happy when people offer pray like you did. This is all she needs for now. I am with the light and positive energy, darkness is pushed away....

You're doing the right thing about not talking about all that you're going through right now pola...sort of running with the idea of the whole Law Of Attraction concept...by constantly talking about negative energies going on in one's life only might attract more..so you're right not to. I did that when I was going through a very rough time in 2006....I didn't focus on the negative and even my friends would say "How can you be so calm with all that's going on?" And I was, probably the "calmest" I ever was in my life simply because I knew inwardly getting into a tizzy or worrying wasn't going to help one iota

I certainly know the writer feeling, if I don't write I feel like a part of me is missing. My second book is a novel, called angels watching over me, I do some poetry too, which will be put on this site, but I am more comfortable with prose. I love personal stories and fiction writer, I guess I am eclectic, I also to some psychology articles as well. If you ever get a chance to follow my stories here on this site you will see the full gamut of my writing, including stream of conscious writing as well. I wish you luck and success with your book

no because these stories have been floating around the internet for years, if my stories are taken I have legal recourse with copyright protection which I had to pay for when I got my first book published with publish america my second book will not appear on this site, maybe an excerpt here and there.

Exactly winterose...If I'm not writing my fiction I do feel like something is missing...article writing at least keeps the writing flow going but it's just not the same. I did read your first story you posted here and loved it, and do hope to read the others....Even though your work is copyrighted aren't you afraid someone might "lift" it anyway...I know one person here who had an article she wrote on her blog...she later found her article word for word in a magazine Only reason I ask...I wouldn't mind sharing my stories here either...I would have to really break them up as all my short stories are REAL long..average twenty pages...but I would be cautious about anyone lifting them--some are posted on other sites though and are copyrighted.

Great poem hon! Hey....will I get an autographed copy of the "cat novel"? LOL! You just do your thing hon. You have an awesome talent, and it simply cannot be neglected. As for me, I have had to let go of a lot of things lately to concentrate on all of the stuff required for keeping my weight loss successful. One of these days I'll get back to doing it all....I hope! Hugs!

I know how you feel. I have a lot of things going on in my life and so many other things that should be going on in my life I should just take a break from the net period to get things done. Not only my article writing, but my fiction writing, my online class, and a job that I really need to be looking for. However, Mylot is how I've been making the bulk of my money lately so I really hate taking breaks here. It's difficult when I know that spending time here will result in money. I wish you luck with all of your projects!

Hi pyewacket! haha..He paints using different medium such as acrylic, watercolor, oil, even coffee, etc.. He draws portrait, caricature, etc.. He sculpts using different kinds of clay, wood, paper pulp, etc.. At the moment he is a design artist/graphic/digital artist and has found a new love now which is flash animation. He does a lot of art works which amazes me but of course I am his number one fan. haha..Oh, he sings and dance too! haha.. I am really proud of him. However, he is really trying my patience when he gets moody. haha..

lol...glad to know that I won't be the only addict who isn't going to be here as much as before. I'll be starting work next week and I won't have the time to be here....what with preparing for the next day's work...a toddler and a 7 year old and the housework. But don't think I'll be totally out of myLot. I'll be here on and off and maybe a little during the weekends. All the best with your writing and hope staying away from here will give you lots more time to write....that's what's more important...and we know you'll pop in once in a while:)

I would love to have a passion like that. I used to love to write, several years ago. It was fun. I don't enjoy it anymore. I don't know why. But I'd love to find something else I enjoyed like I used to enjoy writing. I'm trying to finish the one correspondence course I'm currently taking. I should focus on that because it needs to be finished. It's just one course, but it gets me that much closer to my degree. I'm at a senior level in college, but at the pace I'm going, how I can't afford to take anything else (my parents paid for this one), it will be awhile before that is all finished. Maybe before I hit 30?!

It's in Interdisciplinary Studies. It means I take a lot of languages, a lot of psychology, a lot of science, a lot of everything. I've taken all the psychology classes, and theology and philosophy, so I'm trying to concentrate on languages next. Which means three semesters of Spanish.

Hi pye, Yes, I have noticed that you haven't been as active here of late, and have wondered why. Thanks for clearing this up. I'll really miss you, but am glad that you're getting down to work on this. Please let us know how it's going, and I hope you'll achieve great success. By the way, I consider you an inspiration, in this area, and I truly admire you, and your work as a professional. A family member referred to me as 'an amateur writer' just recently, and I was flattered, considering where it came from. myLotting has inspired me to want to get going, and achieve my dream of being published. Maybe one of these days I will, but I definitely need to act on this. Does this mean 'the other place' has been put on hold for now? Sorry, I haven't been back there lately. Take care.

I'm kinda starting to go thru this right now. One reason I've barely been active on here at all lately. I just had a turning-point sort of birthday- the kind where you start wondering where the rest of your life is going to go and realizing that time is indeed very, very precious. I've worked in retail in one form or another for over half my life now. Been in my current job for 10 years. (I work for a local goldsmith.) I like it-I love the customers and they have all taught me so much-but I know it's getting to be time to move on. So I ask myself-if I could make a comfortable, livable income doing anything I want to-what would I choose? I love to write, too- and I'm sure the characters in the stories I left on the back burner aren't too pleased- but I guess what I really want is to be an artist, a designer- a creative entrepreneur. My grandmother recently passed away-3 days before my B-day, actually-and I want to honor her spirit by learning how to do the things she did- crochet, knitting, etc. I want to learn to throw pottery and paint something other than my walls. Design the kind of funky jewelry we don't sell in my store. Design and build my own furniture. Do something with the plethora of herbs I grow in the garden every year. I can't up and quit the bill-paying job as of yet, but I'm using the money I make online to purchase supplies and equipment, and trying to train myself to use my time more wisely-I tend to get really caught up in housework and leave little to no time just for me. Was it Goethe who said, "Whatever you are, begin it."? I wish you luck in chasing down and keeping your muses well-fed- and now I'm off to catch up with mine.:)

I just love your response..LOL. Yes, I think we all reach that point and reflect and wonder if there is something "more" to life and those years are ticking by so fast, and sometimes you wonder if one's life had any real purpose that there has to be more than working to pay bills. I love the idea that you want to do pottery..that is something I would love to do as well. I do paint and draw, but haven't done that in awhile as I've been so busy writing articles and now my novels that have been on the back burner like yours...I think the thing you and I both need are 60 hours in a day to do everything creative that we want to do, don't you think?

I completely understand what you are saying, the trouble with myLot is that it takes up so much time, it is a cycle that is very hard to get out of. I have only recently started to write, many of my ideas have been wrote in note form but since joining here have had no time to turn the ideas into anything further than ideas. I recently started submitting to helium, I wanted to write articles and stories, but just lately everytime I write something it turns into a poem!! I have submitted 2 poems, the last one I did yesterday got to number 4 in rankings, that made my day, it also made me realize that I too need to concentrate more on this, just to see if I have the skill to write. So I think that I will be cutting down on my activity here for a while, but as long as I still see you around then that will be fine!!!

It is odd that we both lost them at the same age, but I think we have had a few coincidences like that. I have put 2 poems on helium, I was really pleased that one ranked at 4, but unfortunately it soon slipped down, but it gave me confidence. It is funny because I want to write articles but for some reason I just keep getting loads of poetry going through my head, it is really weird. I do want to spend more time on it all though and to do that, I need to withdraw from here a bit, I need to come up with a plan!!
