Yes, it is true. 31,000 (must be shills for big oil) people (self proclaimed scientists) have signed a petition denouncing man made global warming as a hoax. 9,000 of these supposedly claim to have PH.D's. What's that? A PHoney Doctorate? Here's the story? http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=64734 What do you say and why? Are these shills for big oil or courageous people speaking the truth? BTW: I come down on the side that they are speaking the truth.

Global warming is not a hoax. Look at the Earth's history and you'll see that it is a natural occurance. However, our using so much fossil fuel isn't helping the matter. I believe that we have speeded up the process in our quest for more comfort, more style, bigger and better everything. The destruction of the rain forest isn't helping the matter, either. By the way, Ph.D. actually stands for 'Piled Higher and Deeper', right after B.S. (Bullsh*t), M.S. (More Sh*t).

I only claim man made global warming is a hoax. Obviously, the earth gets colder and warmer as part of a natural cycle. We are powerless to change this in any meaningful way. BTW: Your new avatar is much better!

OOPS, just realized you don't have a new avatar. I mistook you for someone else with a similar but different username.

That's okay. I liked the compliment anyway.

Let me see here, this has been signed by a fully 15 times the number of scientists who claim man is responsible for global warming... many of those same scientists have now recanted and had their names removed from that silly consensus... and yet we have people claiming it is wishful thinking? I think these people are wanting us to be responsible for global warming... with is now being referred to as climate change because global warming stalled in 1998 and the earth has actually cooled a bit. That same IPCC just recently released this statement ... Researchers belonging to the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) reported in Nature (May 1) that, after adjusting their climate model to reflect actual sea surface temperatures of the last 50 years, “global surface temperature may not increase over the next decade, as natural climate variations… temporarily offset the projected anthropogenic warming.”" Here is the link.... http://www.junkscience.com/ByTheJunkman/20080501.html I would say that Nature is in control of the climate and NOT man. Anyone with half a brain already knows that the sun and water vapor are the major climate drivers. The Heat Index and Humidity are are both examples of water vapor and how it affects our climate. These people are speaking the truth, and only the most obtuse individuals would not see that... and anyone involved in the scam to bilk the tax payers out of massive amounts of tax dollars to support this scam. That IPCC consensus was not science ... it is nothing more than a political agenda driven by lust for power and greed by such people as Gore who stand to make lots and lots of money dealing in carbon credits. It is nothing more than a continuation of the scam that ENRON started before they got shut down. Gore's "Inconvenient Truth" has been found to be a work of fiction on 9 points by a British Court, and it has been blasted repeatedly by scientists who know that film to be a lie. Yet people still believe that man is responsible for Global Warming/Climate Change. I think they should ease up on the Koolaid a bit.

Here is some more bad news for the man made global warming fans that just showed up in my inbox... Concerning temperature and CO2... "The climate cooled from 1940-1975 while CO2 was rising rapidly," Dr. Singer and company note. "Moreover, there has been no warming trend apparent, especially in global data from satellites, since about 2001, despite a continuous rapid rise in CO2 emissions." Concerning sea levels, and in particular the Maldives which are supposedly at risk of disappearing.... “At one of the allegedly most endangered sites, the Maldives, condemned to disappear soon into the sea, both satellite altimetry and tide-gauge records have not registered any significant SL rise,” the SEPP informs us. “Contrary of IPCC expectations, sea level there fell by 20 to 30 cm [centimeters] in the past 30 years (Mormer 2004).” Source.... http://www.aim.org/aim-column/lie-back-and-enjoy-it/ Of course there are people who will still try and deny the actual science involved in these studies.... After all, there is an agenda to think of.

How can you 31,000 scientist know more than the scientist and social scientist that Al Gore talks about? Is it because they deal in facts instead of the emotional rhetoric of the Global Warming crowd! At a recent Global Warming Conference one "scientist" reported that due to the change in the ocean currents was causing a cooling in the northern hemisphere but this would not effect global warming prediction because the change in currents was a naturally occurring event and would not be figured into their computer projections. Global warming projections were accurate and the cooling was only temporary and global warming would occur but they didn't know when. Another group of Global warmers predicted that the climate would change and become colder before it warmed up and that Global Warming was really climate change and it could change and become colder or warmer but it would be mans fault. The answer is simple man is to be blamed for everything that goes wrong and anything that is good is due to the environmentalist wacko.

I do mathematical modeling of the stock market. If I were to do as that scientist who chose to ignore the reality while insisting he was right, I'd go broke. I'm reminded of a famous scene from a movie. A wife catches her husband in bed with another woman. The husband tells his wife,"Who you gonna believe, me or your lying eyes!".

Well, I checked and there are few names on that list that I know, so I know they're not shills. I also know that at the International Conference on Climate Change held in New York in March, the majority of those scientists agreed that humans are NOT mostly responsible for changes in climate. The problem is that when these scientists DO speak out, the mainstream media ignores them, making us think that all scientists are in agreement. They are not. The statements about climate change that come from the Gore crowd often talk about how much warmer it has been the last ten to fifteen years. And yet, right here where I live, if you look at the temperatures since they've been keeping track and the warmest years were 40 and 50 years ago, by quite a bit actually. As usual, there is much to this issue that does not make it to the news. But most of the scientists I know don't think much of Gore or his supposed science.

LOL... glad to hear your opinion. Mostly I agree with it. I used the word shill as I have been called that for debunking the notion of man made global warming. Just a little private joke in the form of sarcasm. It is too long to go into but I've had some really absurd conversations with people who believe in man made global warming and are highly intelligent, but do not have the skills to do a critical analysis as to its truthfullness. Rather than believe their high IQ does not automatically bestow enlightenment, there are many who read propaganda while absorbing it completely and quickly with no idea they are being hoodwinked. It is easier to call me a shill in the pay of big oil than learn how to analyze science studies.
