My daughter had her two year well child check up yesterday. She weighs 27 pounds and is 33 inches long, and I'm curious to what other toddler's are. The doctor didn't seeem too concerned but I don't think she has grew very much since her last appointment. How much does your 2 year old weigh? How long is she/he?

Did your doctor tell you what percentile she falls in? Sounds like a good size to me. That's about how big my son is, and he is 20 months old. But he has always been a little big, plus boys are generally bigger than girls. Do you have her height and weight written down from her last check up so you can compare? You could always check with her doctor's office. By the age of two, the growth rate slows down dramatically, so you should expect smaller gains from here on out.

No, her doctor didn't mention but I think when I checked the percentile charts online it says she's in the 50th. I'm sure it's just me being worried, and I think that has a lot to do with it to - how they slow down dramatically after that first year. :-) Thank you for your input.

50th is good, she's right in the middle. I know what you mean about worrying. It's natural, especially if this is your first child, to worry about everything. I do that a lot too. But I've gotten a little better. Try not to worry about specific numbers and focus more on the specifics of her. How does she seem to be doing? Does she seem to be growing? Is she healthy and happy? If yes, her exact weight is less important.

My daughter is only 16 months old, but she is 23 pounds and 31 inches tall. Sh recently went through a growth spurt. Did the doctor mention what percentile she fell into? My daughter has always been in the 50% percentile for height and weight.

She didn't mention it.. but I did check online and IF I read it right, she's in the 50th.

She sounds pretty average sized to me. My son turned 2 in February. He's tall for his age. At his last doctor visit, he was 36.75 inches tall and weighed 30 lbs 9 oz.

That's about average height and weight for a 2 year old. My oldest, a girl, has always been average on those charts. She was 33.75" and 26 pounds 15.5 ounces. My middle one has always been on the shorter side. She was 32.5" and 23 pounds 8 ounces. Now my son, a boy, is on the tall side. He just turned two and is 35" and 31 pounds. No doctor is concerned, if the child's measurements are still on the growth charts and the child shows normal progression, not a sudden large dip up or down. You have to keep in mind in the first one and a half years, they grow quickly. Then it slows down. Don't be surprised, if she only gains three inches by the time of her three year check up. Additionally, at least here, the two year check up is the first one where they measure the child standing up. Before it's done with them laying down, which is not very accurate and depends on how well they manage to get the child stretched out to measure him/her.
