I have just returned from my Consultation with the Anaesthetist
I got the call Friday Morning to say an Appointment was available this afternoon so I took it
Basically yes it is a high Risk, but they will only give me a certain amount and if I need more they will then give me more
I will be sedated before I go down so I do not get a Panic attack and cause an Asthma Attack , when I get down there they will put me under straight away
The Main concern they have is that it might cause an Asthma attack when they put the Tube down my throat and into my Lung, but again that is a medium Risk
They will then do the Keyhole Operation, before they wake me up I will be given Morphin and again on the ward
If I have an Asthma Attack I will have to stay on the High Risk recovery ward for 2 Days and then on the word for another 2-3 Days, but hopefully that will not happen
He has told me that he will speak to the Surgeon straight away as he wants them to do the Operation as fast as possible as he is happy with the way my Lungs are right now, if they leave it to long there is chances of Infections Steroids to be taken and that means they can't do the Operation as it is to high a risk
He also asked me not to panic or worry about it till it happens as again that can cause problems with my Lungs so I will try not to, I will do my best on that one
Basically he has given me the if's and but's
He also told me as soon as I come out Theatre and onto Recovery they will wake me up as they do not want to leave me to long and make sure that I come round with no Problems
I will of course let everyone know once I have the Date
I know the risks now and I guess if I do not wake up I will never know about it lol
I have to look at it this way or I will make myself crazy

Gabs angel so sorry I haven't been on touch - things have been pretty hectic here and I have just been struggling to do anything! I am glad they are going to try and get your op done quickly and I hope you try your best not to go worrying as that will only make things worse - see even the consultant agreed with me! Don't worry about not being in touch I am not to much fun right now lol
I will be ok I have to be as I can't risk making the Lungs play up
I know you have a lot going on right now Sweetie so do not worry about me I am fine

Angel I don't care how much is going on - if you need me I am here! You hear? I am coughing a lot just now and have had a temp the last couple of days so I am probably making even less sense than usual but I will phone you in the next few days - if you need me before then you have my numbers! I know you will be fine with the anaesthetic cos I said so! lol Love you Angel xxxx

Gabs, I know you believe in God and his higher power. I do not talk much about faith, but I think with you now it is due. You must put your faith in God and your body's ability to fight. You have to have faith that you are strong and a fighter. you could not have gotten where you are today with out that strength. Not only do you have your own faith but you have all of ours. We will all be praying and giving you healing energy. You simply can and will do this.

Angel yes I have my own Believes and I never talk about them either as I see no need to
Everyone believes in their own way but I know that which ever way it goes there will be reason
I will not sit here and say yes everything will be great as there is always that little Chance that it won't
If I did not have COPD Emphasimia and that I would feel easier but he did put my mind at rest a little bit

I thought that things would move fast once it was sorted out, they do not like to hang about once they get onto something which is good as you do not want to be having too much time to dwell on it. Dwelling on it will just make you worry to much and make you ill.
I am glad that things are on the move now for you, at least you know what is going to happen. Take care hugz, xx

Thanks for sharing this here. It sounds like the doctors etc., have everything well in hand, and they're going to make sure that all goes well. Does this mean that you won't have to wait four months (I believe it was) for your surgery? I know you'll keep us updated, and you'll continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. It's good to know that you have had your Consultation and risks are determined, duly told and course of action is decided. While there are risks involved, I am sure that they will do their utmost to do it the best way and that you will be fine and back with us. You have fought risks before and I am positive that you will come out of present one as a winner, especially given your overall positive and courageous attitude.

Thats the ticket! You keep a positive attitude. I'm sorry you have to go through this, but at least the medical professionals are talking to you like you're a real person, not a puppet or something.

You will be fine after the operation..i know you will you got tons of support here to pray for you during the operation..also keep on praying and dont be scared...coz i had experience that too..when i undergone my first time DNC..i felt so nervous that my blood pressure elevated during that time and they needed to dozed me off before the procedure and the nurse advises me that its me who can help lower it by not feeling so scared ...now thinking of it i just smile to myself and think how stupid i am for being scared...

Glad to hear your lungs are doing pretty good at the moment. I pray they stay that way up to and thru the surgery as well. I expect you will be away for bout a week then. After that, I'LL START WORRYING about you. All surgeries are a risk, some more than others. Like your dr. said, don't worry over it. That's what your friends are for, to do the worrying for you. Occupy your thoughts with Gissi and us instead.

Lol Brair I am trying not to at all and I am not to bad right now
I guess when I get the Date that is when I will start but have to try and stay calm
I don't know how long I will be away I hope not to long but I have a desk top and I guess it will be a bit hard to sit here

Hi Sweetie, I know you are nervous, any time that you have surgery it is scary but when you have the health problems that you have it makes it more so. I will be praying for you hon. Please let me know the date so I can know specifically when to pray.

I am glad your finally are moving forward with this thing. I know when this is all over with and you recover you are going to feel so much better.
I have missed you so much. I miss our chats and our discussions.
I am still not getting my emails when my friends start a discussion.
I will write you later and let you know what is going on here.
