Maggie from the Simpsons is 20 years old! And, Homer should be retired!

Did you know that the Simpsons have been on TV for almost twenty years? That means baby Maggie is 20 years old and Bart is at least thirty. We'll never know Lisa's true age. A lady never reveals that. How is it possible? Are we still living out one year of the Simpsons life? In 20 years will they show us year two? Will Bart ever graduate to the sixth grade or attend high school? Or, will they have to create another cartoon show where Bart is all grown up and we get to see his adventures as a Dad. I get the fact that these are cartoons and so they never age. But their audience gets older. Didn't they think we'd notice how two decades had passed and the baby has only said a handful of words in that time. And, how Bart has only passed one grade in twenty years? Guess Homer should be in retirement now! On occasion, they flash forward to when Bart is all grown up. But, most times he's still just a little kid. What do you think? How can the Simpsons still be the same age after 20 years? Is it possible the Simpsons are caught in some kind of weird time loop that keeps everyone perpetually young? What's your best "theory"?

It seems that way. Yeah the baby should be 20 years old by now or Maggie. Bart should of at least been out on his on and Lisa also. Both Homer and Marge should both be retired. Maybe they are in a time loop it is crazy but true.

They do keep showing updates from a potential Simpson future like where Bart is the Supreme Court justice. That's a funny outcome to such a mischievous prankster! Wonder what Maggie would be? Jet plane test pilot, probably!

I think another cartoon of Simpsons must come out where it shows that they are all grown up.

I was thinking that too. I've often thought that over the past twenty years of The Simpsons, that they never age. I also wonder how they never run out of stories. Imagine how many more stories there would be if the people actually aged!!!

I have never figured it out. All I can think is that they solicit story ideas from many authors and then pool the ideas and make an amalgam story. See, even that doesn't make sense.

Time tends to stand still on the Simpsons. It's all the work of the aliens from the Halloween episodes!

I think the reason that they do not age is because then all generations can feel the same attachment to the characters. It also means that they do not need to add new characters which will make it confusing. I think it also means that the older audience can watch new episodes and they will still take them back to their childhood.

I would like to see an episode where Bart and Lisa are in high school and Maggie is in elementary school. That would be cool to watch! But I don't think they are going to make another new series about the simpsons in a later stage of their life. I don't think there are any cartoons where the characters actually grow older. That would be weird actually, because then you would see a huge difference between the first season of that show and the last season. I think the makers of the Simpsons just let them be the same age so that the viewers don't get too confused and because every cartoon show don't have aging characters.

It is crazy to think they have been on the long . I sometimes still will watch them . I did enjoy the movie they had a year ago or something like that . The thing with those shows are they never do age . that would be really nice to see just maybe one year , who knows maybe they will come out with another movie sometime . True true , the parents should be as old as mine now .

Lisa is 8, so she would be 28 now. Bart is 10 and would be 30
