Veg*ns are always getting asked, "why don't you eat meat"? Well, my question to you is, "why DO you eat meat?" Unless of course you don't, then I guess I have no questions for you By the way, this week is World Vegetarian Week! http://www.vegsoc.org/nvw/ Anyone planning on cutting out meat for the week?

Well wooitsmolly, I would have thought it's obvious - a matter of survival really. It's them or us - and if you think I'm going to be chomped by a clutch of chickens, or butchered by a bunch of bovines, think again! And don't forget that God told us to go forth and multiply through all the Earth - how are we supposed to do that if the place is crawling with animals? We may as well eat the damn things as pump them full of lead and leave them to rot! If you ever looked deep into a sheep's eyes, you just know that's exactly what they'd do to you - they're pure evil.

Well if you can think of a BETTER reason to munch on a moo-moo then I'd really like to know about it!

why do i eat meat? CUZ IT TASTES GREAT!!! plus as human beings we're wired for it. you do realize humans are omnivores don't you? which means they eat MEAT as well as plants.....if you don't believe it, look at your teeth....those babies we're designed for ripping and chewing MEAT. also most vegatarians have to add something to their diet or take some kind of supplement to make up for certain vitamins and nutrients that you can only get by eating MEAT. as far as health, i'm as healthy as an ox....THE ONE I JUST ATE. World Vegetarian Week....Great!!! that's more FAT JUICY DELICIOUS MEAT for me. people have been eating MEAT for 1000's and 1000's of years and civilization has made it this far......God put THE MEAT here for us to EAT. i respect you for your choice to not eat meat...so respect mine and don't come preaching around my dinner table. so, i guess the question is back to you...why DON'T you eat MEAT???

Vegetarians do not need any supplements AT ALL. It's called a balanced diet. The only thing a VEGAN cannot get from unfortified foods is B12, but there are foods with it, so that really doesn't count as a "supplement." That is the only thing that is in animal products and the only reason it is found only in those products now is because our soil is so messed up that we no longer get it from the ground, as we used to. Yes, I am aware that humans are omnivores, IF they choose to be. Humans have a choice to be herbivores if they want. They can live a perfectly healthy (or healthier) life that way. It really doesn't matter what our bodies were "designed" for at this point. Your response makes me wonder how many nutrition classes YOU have taken. I don't believe in God, but I doubt God would want the animals he put on this earth to be treated the way they are. Why don't I eat meat? Because I have compassion for other animals. Because I choose not to contribute to the mistreatment of them. Because it is disgusting TO ME. I don't "preach" and why would I want to ever be at your dinner table? But you seem to want to shove your OMNOMNOM MEAT!!! SO GOOD! MORE FOR ME! attitude in the face of vegetarians, which I find hilarious (by that I mean obnoxious and childish) and well... I'll leave it at that.

Okay genius. I guess I will reply to a bunch of words you put into my mouth. I'm not even sure why I am trying to defend myself for things I didn't say, but I'm used to people trying out such poorly thought out arguments like this so here you go! First of all, it has nothing to do with "cute" and "cuddly"... by the way, totally, ALL vegans eat are bean sprouts and tofu (lol wtf?) I am not trying to put you down by using lame stereotypes like that... (actually, you are doing a good job of stereotyping yourself, so I guess I don't need to.) Why all the hostility toward me? You don't like the way I think? The way I live? Why do you even care? I never said to let anything run free, did I? These animals are only alive because humans bred them. They would be better off dying out for all I care. I am not suggesting we set them all free into the wild. They wouldn't even survive. It is a completely moot point as it is considering nothing like that is ever going to happen anyway. I do not protest the eating of meat (often...) I protest the mistreatment of animals. Humans do not need to eat meat to survive, carnivores do. What a stupid argument about the wild animals. Really, what is with all the cold hearted humor? Feeling guilty? Or do you just think animal cruelty is that funny? I get the impression you're one of those people who shove their triple cheeseburgers in the face of vegetarians and think that it actually offends them. I hope you are more clever in your real life than you come across on the internet. (Who wears fur shoes anyway?)

ok, let's do it your way and let all the cute wittle furry animals run free. NOW we're in direct competition with them over all the plant foods, not to mention the fact that all the "wild" cows, chickens, and pigs.....along with the already established wild animals(which also eat MEAT....why don't you go protest to them?) will be over running the forests, jungles, and CITIES on the planet.....so in a couple of hundred years will be back to square one, only this time we'll be killing animals to defend our "yummy" vegetables and our living space. human's by nature are a predetory animal.....that's just the cards we were dealt....it's called "the NATURAL balance" so enjoy your bean sprouts and tofu and in your honor i toast you with this triple cheeseburger.....CHEERS!......OH DAMN! it dripped on my fur shoes....

There are vegetarian eating guides, too... I don't trust the meat industry or the government to tell me what I should be eating lol.

For me, the reason is because I was raised to eat meat. I know I can make the choice to give it up, but I am not going to because I do not eat vegetables.

Why don't you eat vegetables? Do you consider yourself a healthy eater? (just wondering!)

I am a very picky eater. I eat the fruit orange, but I will not drink the breakfast beverage orange juice. I do not consider myself a healthy eater.
