Here's a tip that I use to make posting on MyLot faster?

Lots of people ask me how I post so many discussions on MyLot in record time. It's amazing really that I get any posted at all. In my other life, I'm a full time mom who loves a clean house. I'm nit-picky that way. Over the past year, I've picked up a trick or two for making posts go faster. 1. Most times I write out my discussion on Notepad (enlarged font for easier viewing). And, then copy/paste the text into the discussion box. For some reason, my notepad doesn't drag the way the Internet typing does. Maybe because it's resident on my computer and I'm not competing with the other Internet traffic just to type. That speeds things up considerably. 2. Work in multiple tabs. When you first get to MyLot, open up five or so tabs to "Start a discussion." Wait to tag each discussion until you've finished all five. This will organize and speed up your posting. Do that four times and you have 20 posts. Easy! Hope that info helps. Please post your own time saving MyLot tips.

Hi, I can't copy and paste because I haven't reach 500 posts. I always open up a lot of tab when I use myLot. This helps me increase my speed to respond to discussions and give comment. I will open up those discussions I like in other tabs while I continue working on the current tab. after finish responding to current tab, other tabs already finish loading and I can respond to it one by one. Happy mylotting.

Hi, I am not often using the copy and paste. I only use when myLot has problem loading page and I copy down what I type and then paste again. This way I would not need to re-type everything again.

Hello dear beauty queen. I thank you very much for your nice and helpful tips for us to make more good posts within the limited hours that we could spend at mylot. I think that they are very helpful and am very happy to have read this discussion of yours. To be honest with you, I am wondering how come you post so many discussions in a single day one after another when I read this discussion and have already find your secret of posting many discussions. I also love to read and respond every discussion of yours, which is of great quality and value to me. Thanks again, my dear beauty queen friend.

I also open up 5 tabs as I post 5 discussions each day. I use Microsoft word for typing up all my discussions b/c it has a great spell checker. I keep a blank template with just my siggy line on it, type in the discussion, copy, add a pic to the discussion, paste in the typing, add a title and there it goes. I usually add my tags as soon as it posts. It usually takes me about 30-45 minutes to do my 5 depending on how long the discussions are. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Actually there are no rules that say you can't type up your discussion in Notepad or Wordpad and then paste it to the start a discussion page. It also gives me a spell checker so my words are spelled right. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I recently discovered the joys to tabbed posting on myLot. Now I do it all the time. It makes posting so much easier and faster than before. I don't do the notepad thing though. I just type right in my little box here.

I do both ways these days. Sometimes I have plenty of time online and other times, I don't. I'm still working on getting my other computer up so that I can post onto Notepad there and then just connect that computer to the Internet when I get a chance. As is, I can't get online if my daughter is using my computer. She has her favorite educational shows. I don't want to discourage those!

Some good points. Thank you. The first method is useful only if you've posted enough to be able to copy and paste. but the multiple tabs could be useful to all users (unless the tabs get confusing like they do for me) LOL

well i have been here 12 months now and i have around 12,000 postings. It averages out at about 750 posts per month, so i guess i am a mylot addict too. However, over recent months i have slowed down considerably. This suggests that in the earlier months i was touching 1,000 posts a month. All i know is that if you give time to mylot you do build up quite a lot of posts, but i really only start discussions when i have something to write about blessed be

I have tried #1 before but can not do it because mylot will not let you copy/paste until you have made 500+ posts which seems a little excessive to me, but will have to try #2 though.

Well, beautyqueen, I just tried using notepad and my lines run so long I am wondering how that is going to work when I copy and paste it to start my discussion. I am curious if there is a different setting I need to set my notepad on or just keep typing away in notepad. Thanks for your help.

Very interesting tips! I do like how you plan out posts before you start on the 'site. And I do agree that copying and pasting is an internet user's friend- for any website! Unfortunately I don't have any real tips- I type around 100 wpm, so I have yet to NEED to post quickly. However, I'm going to stick around and see if I can't pick up any extra tips from you guys once I get used to this website.
