I would like to take the time to commend all the emt's, paramedics and firefighters who put their lives on the line everyday. I am the proud mom of a daughter who is a paramedic and firefighter. I worry when she's working but it's her job and she loves it. Since it is basically a male dominated career, I am even more proud of our daughter. Hats off to all the people who work hard to save lives.

Thank you very very much for the recognition, as an EMT I know how hard this job can be at times. I also commend your daughter for the service she renders to the people in her community. It is so nice to be recognized, again I thank you.

Good for her! You should be very proud of her for breaking into a field that is male dominated! And congrats to all the EMT's out there who are always ready to save a life!

I am exceptionally proud of our daughter. She's not a big lady but is very strong. I worry about her but she's doing exactly what she likes to do and that is to help others. Thanks for responding.

A big pat on the back to your daughter Carolbee! My one daughter is an EMT. Really, these people who are the first responders in any emergency are truly the unsung heroes. Every day they deal with all different types of emergency situations, yet you don't hear much about them and the role they played. Yes, it truly IS a male dominated field, yet in some ways they probably put in more effort just because they are always weighed against their male counterparts. Not fair for sure, but that seems to be doesn't it?! I worry about my daughter too, but you have even more to worry about with yours being a firefighter on top!

Yes I do worry about our daughter fighting fires but it's what she chose to do as a profession. She loves her field and feels she is doing exactly what she is suppose to do. I am better off not knowing when she is on the firetruck. She's in a relatively low risk area so that eases my mind somewhat. I commend your daughter also. Thanks for responding.
