The $100 laptop now looks like a book that carry both Linux and Widows operating systems. It is sleeker in design and has fewer mechanical parts.

Carrying both Linux and Windows, the child is able to take advantage of both operating system 'worlds' when the device is used as a computer. The book like appearance gives the device a text book like feel for when it needs to behave like a text book. This is done by splitting it into two touch screens that can either mimic a laptop with keyboard or the pages of a book.

The first XO2 machines should be ready to deliver to children in 2010.

I personally can't wait for those to hit the commercial markets here in the USA, I can see the usefulness for adults here. Make waiting in the doc's office or government holding pens less of a time waster...
