Do you read before you got bed at night? I do. A while back I stopped doing one of the things that I enjoyed most and that was consuming books. I used to read a variety of books rangning from self-help to trashy novels. If a book is a good read I have a hard time parting with them. In fact, I still have a whole bunch boxed up and I don't know why b/c I doubt I will ever read them again. But one of my New Year's resolutions this year that I have kept was to get reading again. And since I am so busy during the day and I have a hard time falling asleep I have found that reading is a way that helps me wind down. In fact, even if it is midnight and I have to get up a mere four hours later....if I read a few pages or chapter I notic ein the morning I am not dragging as much. Plus, the reason why it was on my list is I felt I was becoming ignorant...and that is one thing I hate the most. And since I begin my book quest again....I am finding peace within myself again. So do you find it helpful to read before you go to bed? Or does it just helpe you zone out the reality of life?

I read every chance I get. It is helpful to read before I go to bed. I have boxes of books too, and I can't part with a single one, unless I really hated the book.

it's weird isn't it? I was like as a kid too. If I loved a book, I kept the book. I think I have a few boxed away with my high school stuff too....not to mention all my trashy novels I would read in the summertime....they probably have grease stains from suntan lotion....ewww LOL

Taface, it is amazing how many things I don;t do as much of anymore since finding mylot. Reading is the biggest of them. now don't get me wrong I do not neglect my life, but I do neglect some of my other beloved hobbies. I am like you and made a resolution to get back to my love of books, and I have somewhat, probably not like I did before. in answer to your question yes I enjoy reading before bedtime. Always have.

Reading is so underrated I think...at work they call me the book worm, but I don't care. Right now I am reading the Scarpetta novels (trying to read them in sequence) by Patricia Cornwell...I never was too much into crime novels, but she has a sense of humanity in it. And I have always loved novelists who write on a person's level. Yeah, I had to set limits on mylot time b/c otherwise I'd get nothing done. In fact, i am over my limit right now. Talk to you later.

Well yes, reading helped me a lot. I am an Insomniac, reading a book helps me whenever I feel that it's starting to kick in. Also, it helps me in learning more about things and stuffs. As my uncle used to tell me, that's a good hobby you got back there and am sure it'll help you grow more as a person or an individual. I read almost everything, but I usually read novels before going to bed..

I always read before I go to bed and if I have some free time, I'll read a few chapters during the day. I love poetry and the classics, but I read just about anything I can get my hands on. It helps me zone out and it helps me to relax at the same time. Thank God for great authors.

I love to read before i go to bed. I always read my son a couple of books and then try to read some of my own. It is very relaxing.
