hello my fellow Mylotians, i was just wondering which anti-virus you prefer...AVG or Avast? i'm using AVG right now, but it's so slow at start up and i think it slows my system down. then there's Avast, i used to have it but it seemed kind of obtrusive......kind of like a "mother hen" telling me not to go to that site(which i guess isn't a bad thing.) anyways i'm thinking of switching back to Avast......i just wanted to see what others think. THANKS

Hi, I like to use Kapersky. I tried AVG before. AVG is free nut it is not powerful to detect and clean virus. If you want me to choose between AVG and Avast, I will choose AVG because I tried AVG before. I never use Avast anti virus before but my cousin is using it. My cousin's computer got a lot of virus, so I think Avast is not effective to clean and detect virus too.

Hi, I'm not sure how much it cost because I'm not using it anymore. I recommend you to use AntiVir. It is free and very effective. You can download it at download.com. I think that it is the bast antivirus ever.

Hi sconi! I have Avast and it keeps me 'safe' I've switched off some of the options so it is not ttelling me what do and where not to go quite as often as before but it still protects just the same. I have tried other in the past but I've been with Avast for over 2 yesrs and I don't think it can be beaten. I only notice it slow when I start my computer but I've got a schedule so that I do other things (at least I get the bed made ) while it checks what it has to check then it gets on very unobtrusively. That's my choice.

thanks Diana, yeah, i'm leaning towards switching back to Avast...i guess i just need to set it up differently. i really do like AVG, but it just sucks up too much memory.

I'm sorry but I am not familiar with both AVG and Avast. I am using symantec antivirus in the office and its doing quite well. I'll be back to read some of your friends replies here, at least I would have idea about this anti virus that you are using...

thanks for the response. yeah, i've heard nothing but good things about Kapersky, but it's only a 30 day free trial, after that it's like $80.00. i only paid $50.00 for my computer, so i think i'll stick with the freebies for now.

I also prefer freebies which is good to use.Kapasky has a half-year free trial in my country,so it seems we are luckier to try kapersky here. But I think you can ask and search more on the Web,there be many better choice for you in your country.Good luck!
