Today after a long time of wanting a whole banana my daughter who is almost 5 sat at the table just staring at the fruit. I asked her what what was wrong. She wanted her banana sliced. No biggie I sliced it. Do you still slice your kids fruit or give it to them whole?

I usually just break bananas in half for my daughter and that's good enough.

I slice the fruit if that is the kids want any way I can to get them to eat healthier. My little sister usually eats hers whole still but she likes her apples sliced probably because that is how I eat mine though. Oranges have to be spearated so sh ecan eat them better and she loves watermelon and cantaloupe in little balls or bit size pieces instead of eating it from a slice or wedge. She loves grapes too, seedless.

Thanks for the best response I appreciate it. We are now working on getting her to eat baby carrots.

I've been breaking them into pieces. Sometimes I'll have half a banana in my hand and he'll just come take bites off of it :)

I still slice my 8 year olds fruit for him most of the time. I do not slice bananas for him or for his 16 month old sister. They both prefer their bananas whole. I will slice pears and apples for them though.

actually, I'm still 17, no babies around for me and my mom but I think it would be nice if you and your daughter can bond and share slicing moments with each other and have fun! I think you can let creativity juices be poured unto the bananas by slicing them in different shapes...;) [just an advice though I still haven't tried it yet. :D)
